Yup, that's it, keep believing the only card the players have to play in this negotiation.

the problem with nhlcbanews.com is that its skewed to present an image of the players to the public.

for example

this stat http://www.nhlcbanews.com/careerearnings_numbers.html

Career Gross Salary Earnings of $10M or More
Players Under Contract for 2003-04
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Career Gross Earnings # of Players
$10,000,000 or more 203
$20,000,000 or more 86
$30,000,000 or more 49
$40,000,000 or more 34
$50,000,000 or more 23
$60,000,000 or more 7
$70,000,000 or more 3

its simply there so uneducated fans go "wow, look at all the money those greedy players have earned"

If it truly was a site that could be used to understand the issues, they would have not posted this stat OR they would have also posted a stat showing how similar results for the owners profit in their career.

It's obvious that nhlcbanews.com will be biased towards the NHL, although the only other unbiased sites would have to be large television/media corporations(TSN,CBC,ESPN)

There isn't much coverage out there, so I don't know of any unbiased sources other than the ones stated above.

You won't find it. The teams are privately held, so their books are closed. Any numbers you find or hear should be considered just as suspect as you might consider the ones at the cba website.
