So i ran Battle of Ilum HM just for ***** and gigs, ended up with 3 inquisitors and me
SW Columi OH token dropped lol, ended up switching the mod and crystal to my MH crystal cause i needed more crit than power (had +33 power magenta crystal) so im rocking 2 purple Sabres atm until the boss drops the +33 crit pattern
Gotta say, purple Sabres really look the nicest, i'm gonna miss them
Man I am a level 12 or 13 sith warrior marauder and I keep learning new moves but stick to like a main 3. I don't understand which ones to use and when.
Also, what exactly do the Sith points do? i always pick the evil options in chats to get the points but I don't even know what I'm working toward.

Gives your character corruption ie: evil sith veins. Also unlocks certain items that require a certain level of darkside.
What spec are you? Your rotation isn't really a rotation, Marauder is a priority focused class.
For example if you're Annihilation (which I recommend for leveling):
Then you have abilities like Cloak of Pain, Berserk, Sabre ward, Force Scream, Force Choke, Disruption, smash that all need to be used when they're off cooldown or when the situation is right to use them (ie: smash against weaker mobs, or if you need to save your buffs for the boss/elite mobs).
Gore > Ravage > Battering Assault > Force Scream > Berserk > Massacre
But again, after playing both, for leveling Annihilation is the best. If you like the playstyle of Carnage more go for it, it is viable for leveling due to burst never really being bad. Carnage is burst, Annihilation is sustained DOT focus. I would say even for level 50 if you're doing PvE content you should be Annihilation because you can sustain high damage forever.
Marauder is probably the hardest class to play due to the fact we are a gear dependent melee priority-skill class. But once you learn it you're rewarded. Plus 2 Sabres > 1 obviously.
Ok guys. I need help. I am a Jedi Guardian, level 20 and im having difficultly recently while be overpowered.
First off where can i go to reset my skill tree, for starters I want to re do that since I was just adding points without thinking things through to start off.
Second, I really need help understanding how to make my equitment better, mainly by upgrading. Maybe use the AH to my advantage? Is there a good online guide that can help me out with this?
And last, im still having a ton of trouble finding groups to do Heroics missions and flashpoints. Any tips on this?
For where to put your points, i recommend you going to to the SWTOR forums and finding the thread for your class on your section. They should have a rundown of the basic builds and where to put points. you might want to wait before you respec, just to see how off you are. There might also be a player or two here who has played your class a bit and has an idea of where to go with it.
As for gear, you want strength and endurance as far as I remember. If you're DPS heavy, strength first, then endurance. I'm not an advocate of using the AH (though, I also synthweaved to 400) but you can find some minor upgrades that way. At your level, it might not be cost effective. What I did worked just fine, I worked through getting commendations and then would just replace two or three items on each world, and upgrade that way. It made enough of a difference to where I was ok. I also upgraded my companion more if they were starting to struggle. Once I got my ranged healing companion, I just used him pretty exclusively (as that lent itself to my play style best). Also, Mods are your friend. They can get a bit extra out of gear. similar to that situation, I think it's also important to stress the value of pots and consumables. I spent a heavy amount of money leveling up using health pots when I needed to ensure I made it through tight jams. If you can't heal yourself, it's critical. Note, I leveled a Sith Assassin, and at least for me, interrupts, stuns and basically locking characters down made it easier for me. I had to plan out a bit what strategy worked for which mobs. There were certain common spells I knew I didn't want the opponent to get off (mainly healing ones, but often a stun or high damage one) and that I was most effective doing damage with my Maul (think backstab) effect, which meant I had to stun/knockdown someone.
As for gear, there are a few good resources with links to gear (that have been linked in this thread and you can find easily through Google) that could help you as well. Finding your best in slot gear at 20 really isn't a critical factor. You just need to find decent gear that can accomplish your goals while moving forward. I want to stress that while gear does make a difference in this game, as it does in all games of this type, it's not the end all. It matters at the end game, as there is no leveling to be had, but during the leveling process, it isn't always worth spending your credits. I've had a simple rule of thumb that might make it worth while. I give a boss fight or a mission 4-5 attempts, usually with different strategies, and then if I can't do it, I either seek help or go quest on something else and come back. Last night with killing a class quest boss DP-6 (a strong stun immune elite, which wrecks my abilities since that's 90% of my damage and ability to kill high level enemies) I had screwed up the quest a bit by stealthing, and there was a second Elite right next to the boss spawn. I can sap the human elite, but the main fight was taking me too long and leaving me too low to get the second before I expired on the sap. So I had to reset the quest, come back, kill the other elite first, pop the quest and then kill the boss. Even with the boss, I had to take a new strategy (I used force slow and kited the boss around a console) that took a lot longer to kill the boss. This game rewards effort and thought more so than just sheer gear.
On your part with doing the heroics, I didn't complete many of them at all. Those that I did, I usually did two strategies. I waited until someone else was asking for the same quest (which didn't happen that often since not many need a DPS), or I just took the effort and said "Anyone doing Quest ____________"? Or, Someone want to do __________? in general chat. It's a bit off putting, and often times you can get a rando, but most people I've worked with seem to be easy going and the game isn't so hard on heroics if your levels are right. 2+ really means 2 ok players with companions, or 1 overleveled and an idiot. If those two strategies are too much to ask (or your server is empty) then you don't have to do the heroics to complete your leveling.

Thanks guys.
Reset skill points at the fleet (or whatever the base for jedi is). There is a NPC by the trainers, I forget what he is called.
You need Strength and Endurance mostly, and probably crit and power I think? I go for crit but I think power helps.
For heroics basically what Chimaera said, type in /1 LFG (INSERT HEROIC HERE). Keep looking at general chat too to see if people are LFG the heroic you need. I kept doing quests until I saw people asking for groups, then did heroics as they came up. I skipped a bunch too.
I often times get them, wait until I'm done with the world, and then if I got them, great, if not, I'm not worried and abandon. If I see a group forming, and I'm not in the middle of something else or a million miles away, I join. If it takes a while to get going, or doesn't go well, I didn't waste time sticking with it. I just said, thanks, gotta go, and rolled out. That might be hard if you're a completist, but there's no real faction reward (like WOW) and the gear while sometimes decent, isn't so great that you're gimped if you don't do it.
I often would start my play time with an advert for a heroic or two, see if I got any hits, and then just go with it.
And Chim you brought up something I totally forgot about, commendations!
Your going to think im a huge n00b now, but ive been collecting them and I have no idea where to use them and what type of stuff I can get from them. Any help on that would be greatly appreciated as well.

Again, at the fleet. There are "commendation vendors" ... Usually there is one good orange piece of armor per planet you could aim for.
At the starting point of the planet near the vendors as well. I usually buy one or two pieces of gear and then a blue or purple box. No greens. I just save otherwise

I get jealous and miss all my ranged classes when I play my marauder. But when you go all blendo on a group of people it tends to put a smile on your face. It's a very engaging class; you better be paying attention. I know I'm constantly watching to see when blood frenzy procs.
Up to 35 right now, and got Jaesa, but she seems to suck. So back to Quinn.
Thanks for the help parabola. I went into carnage, I knew I should have read the little help window that tells you how to reset your points. Now I'm going to have to ask you guys how to do it

I mentioned this somewhere in the thread but theres an NPC by the class trainers that allows for respec on the fleets.
Carnage is fine, you dont /have/ to go annihilation. Annihilation has health regen though which is kinda cool. Little bit more survivability and sustained dmg vs less burst. Both are good.

If I remember correctly the name of the re-spec trainer is quite stupid, it's like "Specialty Trainer" or some ****. I can't remember off the top of my head though

Same here, and thus far I haven't needed to do a single heroic 2/4 in order to progress in the story. I did do the class quests on Taris first like a noob so I ended up being level 33 and needing to go to a 36+ planet. Decided to go back and find all the quests I missed, did so and am now close to 36 with some space dailies. Still didn't do any 2/4 heroics, though I may do one just to push me over the top.
I prefer solo questing in MMO's unless they have a dungeon finder/LFG system, that's the only way WoW ever got me into dungeon grinding.
Yea i'm done even bothering with Heroics/Flashpoints until they put in a system like WoW has to get a group together easier.
And i really wish i could move my charactor to a bigger server, im on the planet Terris (sp?) and there is usally only like 25-30 people on the planet with me at the same time. Terrible.
When you hit 36 I suggest trying out 16 madness / 11 lightning to get instant chain lightning + death field. Best spec I have tried by far.
Yeah I did hear about that. Sounds like an OP spec they'll likely nerf. I remember WoW had a spec like that at one point and they made it so that hunters couldn't neglect one ****** BM ability to get an overpowered one out of MM. They'll likely do the same thing with this /shakehead.
That having been said, I'll use and abuse it while I can
