Colin Wilson injured...

ugh...as if Smithson needed more ice time. Last word I saw was that it is an "upper body" and we'll get more info on Tuesday. Does anyone even know where this came from? I see nothing on OTF or yahoo...

He made the trip to STL but didn't play, so he's been out the past 2 games. I'm pretty sure that's all we've got.

He was in the tunnel after the game ended in St. Louis Friday night dressed in warm ups. It looked like players were avoiding making contact (i.e. no high fives) with him so I assumed he was sick and nobody wanted to catch what he has. I'm sure Dr. Trotz will have some spectacularly strange diagnosis tomorrow.

If I have learner anything from watching House, I can confidently say he has an infection. Or Lupus. Or a tumor. Or Sepsis. Or...wait for it....Wilson's Disease

It's never Lupus.

Don't think anyone has a clue about Wilson's injury except for the hated "upper body" misinformation. My wife and I reviewed the team coming off the ice after the St. Louis game trying to catch a glimpse of something. We couldn't tell anything really. Just that he didn't look happy even though we'd won.

Trotz said they would know more today or tomorrow. You could infer that they are planning a MRI.

Guarding information about injuries is the one thing in the NHL that drives me nuts.

He caught a stick to the mouth. Possible jaw ... possible concussion ... possible flu ... possible he injured his ribs or shoulder and it didn't catch up to him until after the game ... possible zombie attack .... who the hell knows.

I do remember seeing a little something on his chin or lip. Maybe a cold sore. A cold sore and being around Kleiner would indicate the flu.

Well in that case he must have herpes. I don't blame anyone on the team for not wanting to be around him.

Willy has the Herp! This can't be good. Do players typically go on IR with herpes? I hope not.

In all seriousness, isn't there supposed to be an update today?

Well, we have no clue what's wrong with him or what's going on behind the scenes, based on that, I'd say that it's all Poile's fault for not doing something about it.

that was a goalie stick to the face, wasn't it? knob end, straight up, when he was camped in front? any stick gotta' hurt, goalie is moving that stick hard and fast - gotta' be quite a shot when you get hit. easily broken jaw, something in sinuses or teeth, even a concussion - all keep ya' out for a bit.

Full shield or cage, anyone?

I also so a little something. I don't think it was a cold sore but it did look sort of like one. My best guess would be a bruise/cut from where he was hit in the face with a stick.

In other injury news, I am glad to see Suter's black eye seems to have healed.

Very cool practice yesterday. Glad so many people came out. You could tell some of the players were surprised by just how many were there.

I didn't see him get hit with the goalie stick, but he had several scratches on his face and around his mouth. Looked like he fell and skidded across asphalt.

I kinda liked Suter's black eye. Gave him a tough guy look. He's so fastidious.
