That 9-2 loss will still be fresh in the Blackhawks' minds and they'll be super eager to put this loser team back in their place.

Hawks coach Joel Quenneville called it a humiliating loss and his players agreed. The Hawks have since turned it around with a 12-4-1 record after that game.

Ya, I'm not feeling too good about this.

Yep. I can see a 6-1 pasting. If we can't handle the islanders, methinks we'll have the stuffing torn out of us by a better hawks squad.

Is that pessistic? Yes. Is there reason for it? Uh-huh. It isn't negative if it's the truth.

Such a difference between their team and ours, losing in such a fashion is not only unacceptable it is humiliating. Their solution instead of blaming the schedule or other crap is to buckle down and give an honest effort each and every game since that loss. I applaud that organization for making the necessary changes needed to make it a competitive team year after year. Oh well, apparently this will be another learning lesson we should all stomach. How sad is it most of us already know the outcome for this game, one team sliding quickly down the standings the other rebounding quickly after in their eyes was a slow start. Losing in Edmonton has become the norm and acceptable, in Chicago that mindset changed when Bill Wirtz died. Katz saved the team however are the Oilers a toy .......

I don't care what happens as long as Nuge and Eberle each get at least a point (and if they have time, Hallsy too).
predicting a 6-3 hawks win, with a goalie pull for the Oilers.

On a very related note, how is Ryan Murray doing at the WJC?

This road trip is brutal. We've got the Hawks, Blues, and Stars coming up. We will probably be the slump busters for Buffalo as well. This season could turn ugly fast, if it hasn't already.

We're not supposed to win this game... which is exactly why we will. It's the Oilers way.

First 2 games combined... Oilers scored 12 goals... Hawks scored 8.

So I'll go with the average and say the Oilers win this one 6-4.

Eventually these Oilers have to break out with a solid offensive game and start connecting on some of those decent chances they are getting. Surely they can't hit many more posts in a row before actually scoring?

The Edmonton Tambellinis get pasted 6-1, the Edmonton MSM parrots the usual lines about trying hard, rebuilding, and how losing was all Hemsky's fault for not being a "warrior."

Thank you It's been a while since I've made a GDT and for some retarded reason I decided to put my GDT record on the line for this game! I think my record is decent, maybe we can pull out a win...a win for Rin!

EDIT: I like that win for Rin so much I had to put it in the title. I shouldn't stay up this late.

Teemu Hartikainen called up? Petrell sent down......

Does this mean a Hemsky deal is in the works, or something just to get the team out of its nose dive.

OR

Is it because Ryan Jones will be out for several days.....

Interesting to see where Teemu lines up,

Oilers will put up a fight tonight for two periods and it will be 3-2 after two for the hawks after a couple of late 2nd period goals. The flood gates will open in the third. 7-2 hawks.
