Really happy to see Hartikainen get a chance to show what he's got. I don't understand why Petrell of all people got sent down. He's been a great Oiler so far and he does not deserve this. It isn't fair, it doesn't send the right message either. Hopefully Petrell is a good influence on the guys in Oklahoma, that's the only positive outcome of him going down to OKC.
Yea I dont get it either. To me it makes more sense to send down the young guy who has no strings attached(ie wife and kids). Especially after considering that Petrell brought what we asked of him every night and that Lander can be a liability and would likely benefit more from his time in OKC then Petrell. Just shows the class of the Oilers organization, you wouldn't see this happen in Detroit.
Really? You are calling out the team because they recall a winger and send a winger down instead of a center??
Geez, this season is really bringing out the wingnuts...
I like the fact that Harski is getting a chance but the timing is rather odd. I just hope that he isn't Paajarvi'd and he gets some PP time and plays above the 4th line for more than 6 minutes a night.

It's good to see Harski back up but WTF are they doing by sending Petrell down? What kind of message does that send to players when somebody who is playing well gets sent down while many others get a free pass for their shoddy play?
Also, Petrell is what he is so what is sending him down to OKC going to do for him as a player while Lander who has potential to be more is just rotting on the 4th line getting minimal minutes while playing with boneheads like Eager. I just don't get it.
I have no idea what they are doing here and what direction they are going in.
Anyway, i know that it might be a lot to ask of him right now but i would like to see Harski get a shot with RNH and Eberle on the top line to give them that physical, net presence. I think that those two played their best hockey of the year with Smyth on their line for that very reason so something like....
i just don't understand these sideways moves. Petrell didn 't deserve this IMO. he hasn't been the reason the Oil haven't won much these last 2 months.
After Ebs, Harski is my favourite Oiler. He's a Smyth/Jones hybrid who cares enough to drive to the net regularly. Can't wait to see him play keep away tonight.
Petrell move is weird. I would have dumped one of Hordi or Eager... or demoted Lander.
The Hawks will score 4 PP goals tonight. Renney will blame the loss on not having enough PK players in the lineup.
Probably. What I don't get is that Harski just returned, hasn't really been tearing it up and then he gets thrown to the wolves. The timing of this move makes little sense IMO. We don't have much up front to call up TBH, but why not call up O'Marra and play him on the wing if need be? If Harski gets 4 minutes with Hordi or Eager then Renney needs to get fired on the spot. You don't bring these kids up and then sit them.

The only other thing I could think of in this is perhaps they are showcasing Harski as a piece to a trade.

I like your idea of having Hartikainen in that top like, just the kind of player they need. As expected I hate seeing Horcoff slotted into his top two line spot. Hall doesn't deserve to be on the play killas line.

I understand what you're saying but that line had a history of success before Hall got injured and i don't think that Gagner fits well with those two so Horcoff is there by default unfortunately plus it spreads out the scoring a bit so that the kids aren't so depended on for scoring, it's wearing them down.
