You think he'll still go #1?

If I'm running the draft for a team ? Yes and it's not even close IMO. Galchenyuk hasn't seemed to drop for than a few spots and he hasn't played a game this year and won't.

Hamilton with some wicked punches tonight. Would have been some KO punches if he wasn't punching a guy with a visor.

Klefbom a wild colt- more power and attack in his game. Not a great skater, but getting better- more powerful than fast. Cannon for a shot, so he makes a nice combo with Brodin, his polar opposite on-and-off the ice. Gregarious and confident like a rock star.

Gormley a good defenseman- going to be solid 2-way guy, not sure about the scoring upside with him in NHL, but he's going to be solid, dependable guy who keeps things simple plays 15 years and w/ a letter on his jersey.

Dougie has highest offensive ceiling of all of them, IMO, but still very much a work in progress in terms of the complete game. Most people know enough to understand his potential, so not really going to go into it all that more.
i like Brodin's game alot and if we didn't get dougie i was hoping that we draft him. Kid is a wicked skater, mature and plays mistake free hockey. He may only score 20 points a year but has potential to be a shutdown defender. Russia's high octane offense had no answer when Brodin/Klefbom were on the ice.

Hottot got clocked a few times and kept coming back...and Dougie makes him bleed...Bruins-style!

I'm not. Look at the damage he could have done to his hand hitting a hard helmet and visor while thrying to concuss his opponent. Showed a lot of spunk, though.

Not to be a debbie downer or anything but the kid he was fighting is only 5'10 160....

It is good to know he's willing to drop the gloves if it comes down to it though, hopefully not just against kids 5 inches and 40 pounds smaller than him.

The kid he was fighting also has about 25 fights in the OHL compared to Dougie's 2 fights. Hottot has fought plenty of tough guys in the OHL so I give Dougie a lot of credit for winning that fight. Size really doesn't mean that much when it comes to hockey fights otherwise Hal Gill would be one of the best fighters in the NHL.

Good points. Size isn't an excuse when talking hockey fights- if you drop the gloves, you don't get bonus points for being undersized...unless you win. It just means that Hamilton was expected to prevail and he did.

Of far more importance was the nastiness and snarl Hamilton showed there. That's been one of the biggest knocks on him up until now: that he's been lacking when it comes to fights and playing a legit physical/hard-nosed style.

Dougie answered those critiques and then some with that fight, regardless of who it came against.

Jared Knight and would-be Bruin Austin Watson played together for Compuware and will now ride again for a potent London Knights forward corps.

Anthony Camara now at 8G, 13A & 76 PIM after trade to Barrie Colts, a 21 point total in 38 games combined Saginaw-Barrie. That is compared with 17 points total with Saginaw 2010, in 64 games. Camara looking to double his total point output in 2011. This late '93 birthdate player is progressing along.

Looks like Niagara has acquired Jamie Oleksiak. Him and Dougie could make a formidable pair on the blueline. The OHL stretch run should be interesting with the slew of deals that have been over the past few days.

Watson is the guy many of us were pining for at #15 (thanks to your write ups :-) ) until we got Nasty Nate...IIRC his "O" game was in question...I have not followed him at all, has he blossomed on that end as well?

Not a Jamie Oleksiak guy, and one NHL scout told me last night that Niagara overpaid for him in a big way (in his opinion). At same time, scout said that Dougie and JO can basically stand at the blue line, hold hands and no one's getting by them.

I'm not an Oleksiak guy either but I think he'll be a nice stable partner for Dougie. If nothing else, it'll get him used to playing with someone of that size.
