Wow, not going to lie, this game has been pretty good. Vintage Jagr right there on that break.

I don't see the need to "root" for anyone in this game. If it was a regular game in October at the Garden, I'd hope that both teams fell off the face of the Earth.

I still feel that way today. Both teams suck, event game or not.

Wow, Jagr had a great chance there. The goalies have been insanely good.

You know what he meant. Fresh ice needs to be skated on a few dozen times before it gets "broke in" and hardens up to game ready. Brand new ice sucks and feels soft.

go flyers.
I know some will disagree, but it`s not a normal game, it`s a league`s event. That`s why it`s necessary/right to sing both anthems.

I really don`t understand why anyone has a problem with this.

I dialed down the color from factory default 50 to 35 and it looks accurate now.

That was a good play by Giroux to draw the penalty.

I've always found the abstract "casual fan" to be boring, myself. And one who never has or will love this great game.

If keeping John Q. Fatass, parked on his soiled couch somewhere in Bum****, Nebraska, focused on this game means more GOALS! GOALS! GOALS!, then screw it...and him.

The game is what it is. Love it in its natural state or go watch the NBA. (Not directed at you.)

Have NEVER understood the naive mentality of some sports fans who can only equate excitement with scoring, in any sport. Greatest NHL game I've ever seen by far was a 1-0 game (until an empty netter) between, ironically, the greatest offensive team ever (Oilers) and NYI, first game of the '83 Finals. Also memorable: Marty/Hasek, 0-0 into multiple OTs in '94 playoffs.

But what the heck. To each his own.

agreed on this, i like low scoring more than high in pretty much every sport besides baseball. 10-9 isn't hockey. 3-2 is hockey.

I try to like Jagr as an amazing talent and all-time player but he's been on a team I dislike his entire career (including Washington)

I'm not usually one of those that can take a player away from a team I don't like and just love that player for an amazing career. I'm glad he's doing so well though and certainly respect him just wish he went to Montreal or even Detroit instead lol. I might be alone in this thought process though

Of course I knew what Eddie O was talking about. Wouldn't be me if I didn't comment! I was only messing on his use of the word "bond" not the subtle complexities to making an ice rink.

Watching Henrik Lundqvist play goalie is really great. It's like watching Brodeur in his heyday.

OK, this is realllllly getting shlocky. In between periods, now a tribute to the '70s Flyers? What next Janet Jackson for 20 minutes, frozen nipple and all?

Take a great professional sport, add TV production values (an oxymoron if there ever was one)...and watch it quickly devolve into overproduced inanity.

In between periods 2 and 3:

"From FDR to Obama: A Retrospective of 70 (out of 71) Glorious Years of Failure on Ice at MSG"

i'm pretty much the opposite. hate rangers, love gaborik and don't mind the queen (though in fairness i liked gabby long before he became a rag). hate the flyers, like giroux, carter, richards, and briere. hate washington, love half the team. hate tampa like stamkos. i'm truly bizarre in that regard. only team i hate and don't like anyone on is carolina.
