Flyers-Rangers 2010-11 Series Recap:
  • Nov. 4, 2010 -- Sergei Bobrovsky made 20 saves and three Flyers scored in the second period en route to a 4-1 home win. Ex-Rangers' Blair Betts and Nikolay Zherdev scored consecutive goals that gave Philly a 3-1 lead. Mike Richards, off a splendid feed by Claude Giroux, and Chris Pronger scored PPGs. Brandon Dubinsky gave NY a 1-0 lead. Jody Shelley and Derek Boogaard fought (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DS8LTsb91zQ ). Dan Carcillo and Brandon Prust battled (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60Ic2RJz0zg ) . Highlights -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePfLDN31Gn8 .
  • Dec. 18, 2010 --Nikolay Zherdev scored twice and Brian Boucher made 24 saves helping the Flyers improve their NHL-best record to 22-7-5 with a 4-1 home win. Mike Richards' terrific feed to a breaking Zherdev snapped a scoreless tie near the game's midway point. Zherdev's goal came seven seconds after his minor penalty expired. The Flyers led 1-0 after two periods then extended the lead to 2-0 before NY scored. Jeff Carter won 13 of 17 faceoffs. Philly held a 39-25 shots advantage including 13-6 in the third period. Chris Pronger missed his first game due to foot surgery. The Flyers completed an impressive streak of four straight wins against top opponents (Boston, Pittsburgh, Montreal and the Rangers) and were 10-1-3 in the last 14 games. Boucher improved to 6-0-1 in his last seven starts with a 1.66 GAA and a .943 save percentage. Highlights -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTdQQNGqvpY

Boucher received a stinger early in the third period from a collision with Kimmo Timonen and after being temporarily shaken soon surrendered an odd goal to NY which made it 3-2. Kris Versteeg's ENG was his first goal as a Flyer. NY held a 39-24 shots advantage including a dominating 15-3 in the third period. The Flyers had zero PIMs, the third time in the team's regular season history. NY had 6 PIMs. The Flyers finished the day as the East's best team with a 39-15-5 record and won for the 20th time on the road. Highlights -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssWfel0zTWQ

NHL Network is doing an on site day at Citizens bank Park where the Flyers players and staff have some of their family in attendance, on the ice etc. Giroux's sister just got proposed to and they interviewed Giroux and his sister...G was asked if he knew about it ahead of time etc. He said (paraphrasing) "oh yeah, I knew a couple days before, Eric called me and asked me how I should do it, and I said do it on the ice here...so I saw him skating around here, all nervous, not knowing what to do...so I was like 'grow some balls and just do it'"

Gotta love G...

Bob-O getting the start, I just gained even more respect for Lavy making the best decsion for this club, and I think with Couts and Schenn back healthy gives the Flyers an advantage they didn't have the last couple of times they played the Rags, and got to love G "just grow some balls and do it!!"

Anyone think that by Lavy doing this, by not choosing Bryz, will hopefully give him a real big wake up call to not suck?

Damn, that's a good 4 lines with JVR/Schenn on the 4th. I love our forward depth, now that we have it back.

Bob is getting the start, not Bryz.

Here is Bryz's quote:

Quote:
I have great news and even better news. OK, great news is I’m not playing tomorrow night ..and better news is we have a chance to win the game tomorrow night.
Maybe Derek Morris and Adrian Aucoin were right after all. Bryz needs to clear his head and just focus on the game.

NHL network has a winter classic practice day show on right now. Its pretty cool, they are showing what they are doing to the ice, and have been interviewing players. Worth turning on for sure!

Pretty solid Hartnelldown after practice today. The whole family has trouble skating

Really though, cool photo.
