The ugliest elite playmaker and set-up man in hockey history after Mario and Wayne.

Devils should trade Brodeur. Period. End of Story.

Cut the cord already. The fans will get over it. Jorge Posada was mad at Joe G for not playing him...well guess what, Jorge...you friggin sucked. That's why you were benched.

It's obvious that Marty isnt producing but still feels like he has something left. Roloson went to the CF last year and he's 81.

Raymond Bourque was traded. In fact, he demanded a trade.

Wayne Gretzky was traded.

Doug Gilmour was traded.

Brian Leetch was traded.

Bobby Orr was let go.

He's allowed 3 goals or more in 50 pct of his games. He allowed 2 in -19 seconds yesterday, so in reality, he sucks more often than not.

To me, it's quite simple -- if the Devils had a young goalie to build around, they could be an elite team again. Who is Lou waiting for? Wedgewood? That's four years down the road if they're lucky.

What a weird organization they've become.

Meh. Whatever.

eh, Marty had a pretty good second half of last season and I think that kind of fooled them a little into thinking they were OK in the goalie department. Of course, that was behind Lemaire's team...

So they signed Hedberg again and figured that would be good enough, but the problem is that even if they just ride Hedberg, that still doesn't give them very reliable goaltending. Hedberg also fluctuates between solid and poor, and in fact probably benefits from sharing time with Marty right now rather than being the #1

But in the end, who's going to want Brodeur right now? He's not going to want to be traded somewhere to be a backup, but he's not playing good enough to be a #1 on any team.

Also, what's the deal with Wedgewood? Don't know much about him but I see people talking like he's a surefire #1 goalie, while his stats just seem to be good, not amazing

Dreger on NHL Live right now. Doesn't believe Parise will re-sign with the Devils.

From the thread on the main NHL board about Capuano's late timeout last night and Babcock's reaction to it:

Mike Milbury absolutely bashing the shootout in general and spin-o-rama moves on NBC Sports Talk. I have to agree with him.

Didn't hear anything of the sort. He simply discussed Parise's potential options. Then agan, I wasn't watching intently.

I found the Ryan discussion more interesting.

Imagining Parise as a Ranger and/if Kreider pans out? Disgusting. We will be happy for many seasons.

Nope, he said it. I caught the end of the interview (last minute or so). Said Parise has earned the right to test the FA market as a UFA and thinks he'll do so. He said the Devils have said time and time again the chances of them trading him are slim to none, and that it could end up biting them in the ass.

The latter part I heard for sure. I do think it would be best to trade him should there be no movement in negotiations by the TDL, but he won't be traded with the Devils still in the thick of the playoff race.

It will also allow them to let Gaborik walk. If it came down to that.

Bottom line is the Rangers need another top 6 forward. Even if Kreider pans out.
Gaborik will soon be 30 and is a FA in 2 years.
