Larsson has had an excellent rookie season. The kid has zero support on the blue line. No mentor. No star veteran. On top of that, you have suspect goaltending, especially late in games.

He's basically been their No.1 since Greene went down. He leads all Devils d-men in TOI, assists and points. Mind you, he's a 19-year-old rookie on a playoff team.

I suggest you watch him closely. Sure he makes mistakes, but the kid is super smooth with the puck. I watched Lidstrom as a rookie in Detroit and the similarities are remarkable.

Devils got a great one, IMO. He wont win the Calder but he will easily make All-Rookie

Yeah he is going to be VERY good. People saying otherwise are nuts. How many 18 year old d-men are there in the NHL every season? How many 18 year old d-men are playing on their teams top-pairing and QBing their PP?

It just doesn't happen. It's like people think he is done developing because he is in the NHL.

Or it's that he's a Devil and they just can't see beyond that.

Not to be a jerk, but do you think he's going to have to fight any less in the AHL? If anything, he's going to have to fight more. Guys are going to be looking to prove themselves against him. He should be on IR if he really is having problems.

He was safer as a healthy scratch in the NHL.

I meant he should just go off into the sunset. I realize he's probably not going to leave that money on the table and retire but he should. Your points are all valid.

winner, winner, chicken dinner...a shame that some posters here can't give the kid his due, they are as bad as the numbnut posters on the Debbies board

Maybe not 18 year olds, but plenty of 19,20 and 21 year olds, and doing it much more effectively.

He often plays less minutes then Tallinder, Salvador and Greene, all of whom are ****** defenseman. Gets zero PK times. He has 4 power play points on one of the worst units in the NHL, less then "studs" like Colin Greening. And just because he is planted on the blueline feeding Kovalchuk one-time passes does not make him a power play QB, he is far far from that. Justin Faulk is a power play quarterback, not Larsson.

Nobody has ever said he wouldn't be very good. He has a fantastic breakout pass, is very calm, and rarely makes mistakes. He has size, mobility, snarl and will be a good top pairing defenseman. He's not there yet though, not by a long shot.

There's also such a thing as giving too much credit. Me not being blown away by him has nothing to do with the logo on his jersey (Henrique has been awesome, and is not a product of his wingers), I am more then willing to give him his due when I actually see him dominate a game.

Devils and Bruins tonight.. on VS? Why would they televise a game with literally the two most boring teams in hockey? I expect a 0-0 game with the Devils winning in the shootout. They can't win any other way.

I don't know. Maybe one of them being the defending Stanley Cup Champion has a little something to do with it.

You realize that Boston has the highest GPG percentage in the East, right? If that's boring, where do I sign up?

Still doesn't explain why they chose the Devils.

Maybe it's just Bruins-Rangers games that are like watching paint dry.

Anyone else biting the bullet tonight and rooting for the Devils tonight. If the Bruins lose in regulation they will be 3 points behind with 1 game in hand. So there won't be a team left in the NHL that if they win the games in hand would be #1 in the league over the Rangers. Of course that only lasts 1 day if the Rangers lose tomorrow.

I actually want the debbies to win this game. Gives us more room against boston and at the same time i firmly believe the debbies won't get anywhere near us down the stretch, I don't even think they'll pass PHI or PIT.

Did Milbury just say that the Bruin was actually aiming at the skates?

He was. Did you see the first goal? It was obvious he shot it wide...
