I think Russia is going to Win the 2014 Olympics

With the new age rebirth of Russian Stars coming from the 2012 and last years World Juniors, I think Russia is going to win the 2014 Olympics and possibly 2018.

On home, Big Ice (their bread and butter), and new stars emerging next year, going to be incredible.

Could Tarasenko, Yakupov, Orolov, and Andrei Vasilevski (big strech but you never know) make 2014?

Good talk.

Better hope Vasilevskiy continues to channel his inner Jesus into a pro career.

Something Special about this Vasilevski kid and Vladimir Tarasenko
you do realize this isn't ping pong and it takes more than 2 players to win, right?

The Big Ice will help the European teams especially the good passing sides(Russia,Sweden).

Canada and USA have not won a medal outside of North America at the Olympics since professionals were allowed to play, so I guess that would help the Europeans.

Having said that I have little belief in Russia for 2014 Will probably win bronze.

Sweden V Canada final.

No chance they win the 2030 Games, i'm having quadruplets and they're all going to be 18 and all of them will be the next ones! I will name them, Sidney, Mario, Bobby and Wayne. We'll be set for 20 years!

Oh okay, if you say so. Let's just cancel the tournament and give the gold to them now

Playing well at the WJR's does not always translate into a great pro career...

As great as Russia's forwards are, I think Canada's offense will be the best of the tournament.

However I think Russia, given the game will be on the big ice, will be co-favourites with Canada and will meet in the Gold Medal game.

The kid probably didn't even know we're missing 6 NHL players and they're talking about their stars...if all of them played tomorow's game wouldn't even be a contest, it'd be 2005 all over again.

I don't mean that! I'm just saying with such good rounded players coming out of Russia in time for the next Olympics or 2018, they could be the key. Remember the 2010 Canadian Team was carried by the younger players coming up big time.

Russia also missing players, Canada has 10 times more junior hockey players than Russia, I think it affects Russia more. I don't think anyone doubts Canadian superiority in hockey.

But **** happens, Russia had 8 players from the Russian Super League in the 2006 olympics when they beat Canada.

NHL players participating in the 2014 games in Russia is not a certainty yet.
NHL players participating in the 2018 games in Korea is highly unlikely.

I think Egypt has a chance, now with Mubarak gone new ice arenas can be built and enough money can be raised in Israel to donate hockey gear to the soccer crazed fans and they will eventually get into hockey, leading to a dream team that will dominate for years to come.

True, and Switzerland too. They also forced a shootout against them in 2010. Shows you non-Nhlers can equal the best. I doubt Canadian superiority, and I'm Canadian. Especially when we play in North America, on Big Ice.

I think 2014 will happen. Too much pressure from the players to play.

I don't think 2018 in South Korea will.

Crosby won't be playing in either, so I doubt people from my Country will watch.

I know all the Russians said they will regardless of what the NHL says, that's what I love

Yeah Ovy and Malkin will go 2014 no matter what so NHL will definitely be in 2014.

2018, hmm far away to make a decision, 1998 Nagano Japan happened.

I think they will be there for both 2014 and 2018.
