lol, finally got my copy of NBA 2k12, and man did they ever totally hose the Raptors. I guess they got through working on the 29 other teams and figured **** it, no one will care if we phone it in for Toronto.

Everyone knows Bargnani is a very dangerous offensive weapon. He seems to be buying into the defensive system, and that's a good sign.

Honestly though, I don't think he'll ever be much of a rebounder. Of course we all want him to average 10 boards a game, but we have to be realistic, and I don't really see him averaging more than 5 or 6. It's unfortunately just not a part of his game that he excels at.

But as an offensive player who is also picking up his game defensively, I think he's definitely part of the future of this team.

Let's say we're picking around 5 (which I hope we can get a top 2 or 3 pick) and we can get a guy like Kidd-Gilchrist..we'll be in pretty good shape going into 2012-2013.

Calderon/Bayless
DeRozan/Weems?
Kidd-Gilchrist/Johnson
Bargnani/Davis
Valanciunas/Johnson

edit: Also, Solomon Alabi has been sent down to the D-league.

I could see Calderon getting amnestied and Colangelo and Stefanski going after a 2nd tier PG like Raymond Felton or DJ Augustin, now that Kemba is the future there in Charlotte, or Aaron Brooks.

There's no hope the Raptors get Deron Williams I mean I guess anythings possible but he'll want to go to a contender, or pry Russell Westbrook from the Thunder (for same reasons as Williams but Westbrook is younger so if he sees we have a future he'd be more of a possiblity). I could see the latter possibly happening if we throw a ton of cash at him but it's more of a pipe dream.

I'd be happy with Felton. Also Bayless is still way to out of control and I don't see him as a good backup. I'd say we ship him out too. Also interesting pick with Kidd-Gilchrist. I'd like to see them go after Perry Jones or Harrison Barnes if the pick is high enough or maybe trade up.

Also whoever said Calderon has been frustrating obviously hasn't watched Jerryd run the team, Barbosa going out of control and charging more then a hot trophy wife and Rasual Butler shooting bricks (besides the Knicks game) as well as James Johnson's nearly invisible offensive game.

Well, the overall rating is weighed differently. Since Bargs is a PF/C, he doesn't have good rebounding or defense, so that weighs majorly. Same way w/ DD and his terrible perimeter game since he's an SG.

You're right Bargs will never be a good rebounder but 20/10 guys are very rare . Bosh did it but he never was more that 3 feet from the basket while covering no one . Also the list of players who avg 9 or more boards is very small as well . I'd be happy if Bargs continues to play like he has this season and comes close to 7 boards a game .

With Val coming in this year and a high pick ( hopefully ) i'd be more than happy to go into next season with these starters -

Felton ( we should have a realistic shot at him )
DD
K/G or Barnes ( if we pick high enough )
Bargs
Val ( if he's ready to start )

This is the makings of a quality team imo .

Does anyone know if we did amnesty Jose could we then turn around and sign him for a lower cap hit ? I think he would be great coming off the bench .

Others have mentioned it but even if we have almost 0 chance of Williams coming here , i'd still offer him a max money deal and at least give him somthing to think about .

We may be too good if Bargs and Jose could keep up this level of play . However , it's going to be almost impossible with the leagues compacted sked this year for Bargs to work this hard ar both ends of the floor and still play close to 40 mins . Jose also wears down with a heavy workload .

I think we'll be picking in the top 7 and that should be high enough to fill a need with a quality player .

I'm all for picking top-end talent and bottoming out but I'm still rooting for wins while the seasons is early. If this team can win some games and maybe we get a worse pick, I'm okay with that. Start to create a winning, play-hard atmosphere in here.

last year: someone hits a tough shot/dunk, Triano claps and congratulates them.

James Johnson hits a tough reverse layup, Casey screams to get back on D. Love it.

Bargnani has been lights out offensively this year. Such great decisions.

His scoring is also very solid considering he doesn't hold on to the ball for very long like some of the other big scorers in the league. He is getting his points within the fluid offense.
