That's what I love, our centre depth is so awesome right now with Spez-Turret-Smithsonian. We just need some wingers to back it up, better D and goaltending and we could be in contention for division lead with Bruins.

I wouldn't call Turris leagues ahead of Regin. He does have the benefit of being healthy though.

I just do not see a lot in Regin. Earlier in his career I thought he had potential, but even aside from injuries I just do not get the Regin love personally. I mean I would love for him to make me eat crow, but I just don't think he's skilled enough for top 6, or physical enough for bottom 6.

Well ahead in offensive ability and upside and is no slouch with defensive responsibility either. The stronger Turris gets the better he's gonna be...but it's one thing that holds him back right now.
Regin as a 2nd line C is okay, but most teams are going to need an improvement in offense from him and we were able to find one.

He struggles to get the puck to the net and has very little in terms of skills that help the team score. Clearly less so than Turris...and we aren't going to see the best of 22 year old Turris for a while.

Hey guys first post. Im Drunk. So glad Turris got his first tonight he looks likes hesreally trying out there. Would love to see him gain some strength this summer and he could very well be that #2nd line center we've always needed.

Smith is becoming one of my favourite sens, just continues too impress. Was at the game tonight and i couldnt believe he sniped that slap shot, amazing.

I don't think he will hit proper mid-season form this year. No camp, missing games, and learning a new team systems equals rehab situation. He's doing amazingly well considering all of this.

it is possible just look at butler but i guess impact players like turris find a way.

i think though around feb he should be even better with his timing and where to be on the icein the offensive zone

he seems to be getting better each night

Seriously.

6 points in 8 games, 1 GWG, 2 GWA, defensively aware... and he's probably not even in full season form.

If turris continue to play this consistently then Ottawa is in good shape. Nice to see him score. I really think he is benefitting from playing with Alfredson.

Were you agreeing with me?

I was giving him a couple more weeks to get in full season form.

I love that Turris is starting to give headache to the opposing teams. Two solid scoring lines and a 3rd and 4th line that is equal to anybody's.
What is cool is that last night's game is first time in the last 4 (wins) that we played with a lead. For the whole game.
Future's so bright, I gotta wear shades

Agreeing, and adding that even without the benefit of a proper training camp he's been doing rather well.

Current production + proper training camp =

Absolutely it does.

Give two people with roughly equal skill at something, and give one of them an entire month's head start at it. I guarantee that while equally skilled, the one with the extra prep time will be much further ahead in performance, at least for a little while.
