3rd rd- 86. Gianluca Curcuruto, D Saulte Ste. Marie (OHL)

Next pick in rd. 5

Ugggh...
If the Bruins ended up with those two, fans should be thankful. Curcuruto is solid on d. Many are disappointed with his offense and feel he hasn't taken the next step, but he has the talent. Also disappointed with the Soo as a team. Felt they would be better especially after mortgaging the future for Campbell. I have GC early third so I hope he drops.

Nobles-LA for the prep championship on Sunday.

Chris Calnan and Adam Gilmour are both solid options as mid-to-late rounders for Nobles, while Devin Tringale is LA's top scorer and can flat-out play. If he could address the consistency concerns, he'd be rated a lot higher.

I think we should draft Malcom Subban with our first and use our 2nd round luck to kick the tires on another promising dman with good skating skills. ***** depth behind rask and I wouldn't bank on Dobby sticking around for long. We need someone athletic and naturally talented to fill rask's roll when he takes over the number 1 spot

Problem is no second rounder this year. Hopefully Chia will get one though.

Now with this injury possibly putting a "?" on Rask's future, taking Subban with our 1st might be a good idea. Not saying Rask won't be good anymore but goalies take 3/4 years to develop and Subban would be a good ace in the hole just incase. If Rask turns out fine then Subban is Trade bait

I think I`ll wait for trained medical staff to inform us about his "future".

It didn`t look good, but some here speaking as though his career is in serious doubt

From Medford- heading to Harvard where he could eventually play with two more local area studs in Jimmy Vesey (son of former Townie and Bruin for cup of coffee+ Merrimack scoring ace) and Brian Hart (for my money the BEST New England kid available in the 2012 draft)

Tringale is under the radar- if you want the definition of a sleeper, he is it. Would not be surprised to see a team like San Jose jump on him in later rounds- he fits the definition of a Tim Burke (SJ's chief amateur scout) type of guy.

I agree with your assesment of Tringale. He was pretty dominate up and down the ice Friday night against a very talented Salisbury team. Very responsible in all 3 zones. The ot goal was a beauty. It should be a great game today. Brian Hart is the best NE player.

I wouldn't put much stock into these rankings. The top 2 goalies on the list both play for the Kitchener Rangers which is a much better team then Belleville who Subban plays for. Subban's stats are still better than both guys anyhow. Roman Will is 5'4" and 130lbs and Subban has better stats then him as well. As far as Marcoux and Brassard being the highest rated draft eligible goalies, fwiw both have weaker stats than Subban while playing for much stronger teams.

Still not convinced we need a goalie.

We kind of need everything haha. I dont know if I would be happy if we spent our first rounder on a goalie, when we have so many other needs, and we have a young stud goaltender. By the time Thomas is out a guy like Subban might be ready to be a backup, so I see the logic, Im just not convince its the best idea right now.. I dont know

And I hear this draft is deep with good d-men, and with us having no real good D prospects besides Hamilton I feel as if that would be our best bet

They just need to draft the best player available regardless of position. All great drafting teams draft based on BPA not need.

I just worry about tuukka's durability and ability to play a full season plus playoffs. The guy is a rail.

I think with Timmy's departure we won't get another undersized yet elite level goalie, so we're going to have to go the traditional route and get someone big, athletic, quick.

Most say the draft isn't very deep, so if the player we want isn't available I have no problem with the Bruins going after a goalie

You are correct, statwise. Different teams, different leagues. Roman Will is 6/1, 190lbs, from MonctonWildcats/Wikipedia.

Subban GP33/GAA 2.51
Brassard GP33/GAA 2.70
Marcoux GP40/GAA 2.75
Will GP57/GAA 2.75

Yeah, that's why I put fwiw about the stats. I'm pretty sure the Quebec league is generally a higher scoring league than the other two CHL leagues.

That's weird about Will. Hockeydb has him listed at 5'4" 130lbs but like you said Wiki has being much bigger. The QMJHL site has him at 6'1" 190lbs so I'm guessing that's correct. 5'4" 130lbs would be ridicuously small for a goalie or any hockey player.

I have to disagree a little with the BPA philosophy. In the CAP era, unless there is one players so far above the others, you almost have to go by positional needs. I do agree with trading Hamill but I think we'd have to add to him to get a 2nd.

The draft can play out either way, but I have a feeling we won't be picking in the first 2 rounds.
