Really like Holzer. The German Tank plays with an edge. Great name, too.

He deserves to be up there. Every Marlies game that I've been to in the last two years he's been among the top players on the ice. Was at the game Monday at the ACC and he was far and away the best player on the Marlies. He's NHL ready and should definitely be on the team over Aulie.

Can't wait to see him get into a few games.

I hope he replaces Aulie, I don't know what Aulie did this summer.

Aulie or Gardiner, preferably Aulie. Either one deserves to take a seat atm.

Holzer to replace Aulie or Gardiner is what I mean, just to clarify.

The Holzinator! Can he skate or is he another immobile one?

Quote:

Talent Analysis
Holzer has good size at 6’3, and continues to add strength to his frame. He initiates contact at the proper time and handles himself well in physical contests. He is calm with the puck and has a solid transition game out of the defensive zone. As the 2010-11 season wore on, Holzer started to adjust well to the speed of the smaller-ice surface. Defensively, Holzer plays sound positionally and can neutralize opposing forwards in a shut-down role.

Future
Holzer was one of the top Toronto Marlies defenders in 2010-11, and he should assume a similar role next year with the club. Holzer is likely to see spot duty with the Maple Leafs should injuries arise.

Projection: Reliable defensive defenseman."""
-HockeyFutures.
So he is big defensive slower D, not really NHL calibre. Hey why not I am sure he will pinch on the play (Like Ronnie wants) and get trapped like all our other defensive D.

This is excellent. I was at the Marlies - Hamilton game at the ACC yesterday, and he was very impressive. Strong physical presence trying to get something going (along with Blacker) due to how flat we were in the 2nd and 3rd. He was also rock solid and very strong positionally from what I could tell (had a somewhat awkward viewing angle since I was in the platinums... first world problems eh?). He had a good game and was one of the few players who didn't disappoint and stayed consistently reliable and impressive throughout a game that didn't have a lot of consistency.

I've always been fond of his game, and from what I've seen from the Marlies games I've caught so far this year he's continued to earn that fondness. He's been solid and reliable positionally and has made smart, economical plays with the puck while maintaining a good physical presence. He's exactly what we need with the lack of Komisarek to be honest, and is perfect to insert in the bottom pairing. He'll be a fine call up for the limited time we will require his assistance (if we will at all).

Hopefully he gets in a game.

Aulie has been struggling this year and Holzer has played well with the Marlies thus far.

Aulie is a big giant who spends more time in the penalty box than on the ice.

I actually want to see Gysbers to be honest but Holzer has done well from what I've heard.

I've liked Gysbers for a while now. Unfortunately this team needs a mre defensive defenceman.

He's up here as the 7th Dman in case someone goes down injured etc.

Will be interesting to see if Ron puts him in via healthy scratch of someone else though.

Some rather disappointing performances defensively from some players lately - including Gardiner, Schenn, and Aulie

I've loved his game everytime I see the Marlies play. Hope he gets in some games and he's not just jerked around.

Frankly, I think all of Holzer, Mikus and Gysbers are worthy of a look in the NHL.

Holzer is a tank and the big physical German can throw his weight around. I really hope Wilson puts him in the lineup against the Canes. He has played 2 career NHL games and is -1.

I like how he uses "our" like he is a Leafs fan. He jumped ship after a loss.

So basically what you just said is that you have never seen Holzer play hockey and then went on to make giant assumption telling everyone what his game will be like based on a minimal write up from a website which by the looks of it you did not understand a word of.
