Gomez. As much as I am hating Bryz's abysmal play so far... we do need to give him time. He has moved from the west coast to the east, so that alone is a big change.

He may still settle down this year.

Gomez scores like 5 goals a season, while at WORST Bryz is an average goalie. If he regains his form, top 15.

Bryz could easily still be a very good goalie for the better part of his contract. Gomez blows. Also, if you're comparing the contracts, it's more important to talk about the total length than what's left. Sure, there might be some GMs that would rather be stuck with Gomez for 2 years than Bryz for 9, maybe even buy Gomez out when it's down to one year, but overall, the Gomez contract is just outrageous. Did he ever even break 20 goals in his career?

Gomez won the Calder and had a 33 goals, 51 assist season coming out of the lock out, making Gionta a 48 goal scorer. That's when he got his contract. Then he just went down hill in a hurry.

As a Habs fan, you got to say Gomez. Worst contract in the NHL handsdown.

Bryzgalov is having a bad season but at least he's still useful and is earning part of his contract. Gomez barely deserves $500k with how bad he is.

Bryzgalov has been really bad so far and his contract term is dreadful, but Gomez is a terrible player making obscene money. I'm willing to give Bryzgalov the benefit of the doubt going into next season. Gomez lost that luxury years ago.

At least Bryzgalov could pick it up and has shown what he can do...The man who likes Buritos hasn't and will never life up to his contract.

Bryzgalov has played half of one season on his new contract. He's a good goaltender. Sooner or later, he will begin to play like the #1 goalie he is.

I'd rather have Gomez. 2 years and $10M left is not that hard to dispose of. Obviously Bryzgalov is the far superior player in an absolute sense. But many teams wouldn't want or need that contract of his, and would have solid enough goaltending options without it (perhaps including Philly themselves with Bobrovsky).

Gomez. With the way the cap is rising Bryzgalov's cap hit will be nothing but a minor nuisance.

well, one way to put it....

would you trade Gomez for Bryzgalov? as a montreal fan.. never ever.

As flyers fan.. would you trade Bryzgalov for Gomez? (gomez doesnt have NTC, he have only 2 year remaning on his contract at 5.5 and 4.5$ and can be bought out or put on the AHL easier than Bryzgalov).

My opinion, Bryzgalov have the worst contract

Gomez. That much money for a forward that can't score a goal? That's brutal. Bryz is still looking to find his groove in Philly and even with his struggles, he's still making saves to help his team win some games.

Gomez has one of the worst contracts of all time as far as getting what you pay for.
