I don't watch this kid at all and from what I saw in training camp he is much better than he has played.

I said before the tourney this was one of our weaker teams in a while and they certainly lived up to that.

Still praying for a miracle though!
He has been caught out of position a few times as well tonight, what led to 2 russians goals..

If Canada would wake up and not pick character guys like Boone Jenner and pick someone like Dumba they could actually be unstoppable.

Gallagher is so much like Gionta. Even doing the 'when in doubt take a slapshot' thing.

Not impressed with Gallagher. He's a slower Canadian version of Gionta. And WTF Beaulieu.

You can't blame the selection committee. This IS probably the best they could have brought in, except McKinnon. He's playing in the under-17 tourney, isn't he not? The kid would have been better than some slugs out there for sure; he DOMINATED Grigorenko the last time they met.

This canadian team lacks that star power it used to have with the likes of Crosby, Tavares, Hall, etc. And it lacks the dominating defensive corps it used to have.

And the goalies suck. Man, if that's the best Canada can do in nets, this country is going backwards and the Euros have the best coming up. This russian kid at 17 is pretty solid.

This slump was expected this year. I never got excited about this team. Not the same talent pool. With the 18 year olds that made the NHL, it cut a lot of talent out of this squad. Next year will be better, I believe. Because McKinnon will be dominant, and others too. I believe Yakupov will be playing as a regular in the NHL next season. He won't be there. Unless he decides to go to the KHL, like many of his Komrades.

As much as it pains me to say it, all 3 of our prospects have been especially brutal in this game (and haven't looked great all tournament, really).

But on the bright side, you have to look hard to find a Canadian player who doesn't look like garbage this game.

You know the only thing worse than Kovalev's level of compete?

Kovalev's level of compete in a defenseman.

That's true. Haven't seen much from the D like that. Unfortunately the fwds cannot score. I've seen this somewhere.
