i suppose, 4th place for the 4th best team

just a shame that we didnt beat Sweden, 2 more minutes and we could have gotten silver

things that bugged me:
MaG was meh
Pulkkinen cant snipe worth a damn, i got kind of sick of the TSN announcer constantly saying "and he hammers it wide" -.-
Aittokallio cant catch the puck
Rookie coach for one of the best WJC teams Finland has had
wish Raipe would have tried something different with the first line
Aittokallio needs to stop playing the puck, he is soooo slow when he does it

Granted this was the first time I've ever seen the Pulkkinen kid but I was not impressed in the least. I just disliked most every part of his game except his physicality which I was not expecting. It's one thing to have the shot but he just didn't have the ability to find the soft spots. That can come with time but with his lack of other puck skills and seemingly ability to think the game, I just didn't like what I seen.

Next year you guys should be good, no?

Young D is a year older. Armia and Barkov return...I think Barkov is gonna be a good one...nice frame on that kid.

Yeah, I think our offence really failed so to say and next year we've something like this in top6, almost betting that they'll do better
Salomäki-Granlund-Armia
Teräväinen-Barkov-Aaltonen
And a lot of competition for the rest
Defence will be better if everything goes normally and Ullberg should be a good goalie. I think Semifinal is hard to reach but definetly should be able to put a fight for that even if facing some top nation.

i dunno Pulkkinen looks like he has some zip on his shot, not the best but above avg to me, he may not have been that impressive but for a 4th round pick not bad.

i though Alexander Ruutu played well wouldn't he be in the top 6 next year? and yeah losing Maatta in game 1 must have hurt the team.

Ruuttu is -92 and therefore not eligible next year.

There's always been more to Pulkkinen dropping to the 4th than the injuries. Productive player for his age over there though, and probably dropped too far, but is far from a sure thing.

Ruuttu's a 92 so he won't be eligible next year. Finland should look alot similar to the one we've seen the majority of the time at this tournament, gritty low scoring games and solid defense/goaltending. The youth on their D and dynamic abilities of Granlund/Pulkkinen kind of went away from that this year. Not sure if a better team or a top-4 finish, but a different team.

The Finnish coach needed to switch up lines.

The first line couldn't put up points against the big nations because they don't drive the net.

Its ridiculous how many time Granlund and Pulkkinen would be on a rush and both players would glide in from the blue line, ultimately leading to Granlund passing for a Pulkkinen shot from 45ft with 4 defenders in front of him.

The top teams had the defense capable of eliminating them from the game (easier since they are all on the same line) and the Finland 2nd/3rd lines are weak compared to top teams.

Larsson has been as good as anyone. Brodin with two great breakouts.

Larsson had one bad pass that led to a Russian chance as Larsson tried to go back to the point and had it picked off. He's had 2 chances-one of which was a Koivu-esque...toe dragged to backhand, went wide, and then went hard to net. Larsson has not come close to losing a battle on the baords...but it is the Russians.

We need to come up with a new name for Brodin.

He's the Swedish Saviour!

Larsson flying in the 2nd.

Gustaffson makes me nervous. Just goes down every shot...

One of those games where one team dominates, the dominated team gets strong goaltending, and then they get one or two chances and score...

Oooh, Brodin had a lot of room to skate in but the puck hopped up on him...

Sweden PP. Outshooting Russia like 45-10. Larsson has 4-5 shots.

Brodin needs to stop trying to defeat fore checkers all by himself, he gets into trouble doing it and it almost lead to a turnover right in front of his net.

Bacon looks solid IMO. Larsson looks great. Gustafson is a little scary, but Mason can probably slap him into shape if he makes it to the AHL level.

What exactly does this announcer expect that Swede to do there to avoid the goalie? He's on one skate falling backwards, how can he manage to change his direction?

Brodin with a great third. Has stopped Kuz and Nail a few times single handedly.
