Fayne was crap tonight. That can't have been a real compliment. He usually actually plays D without getting torched.

This is an off night for the Devils in every regard except the shorthanded ****ery. That happens all the time.

Watching the Bruins on a regular basis like I do, I can also tell you that this is significantly better than their norm. Just a confluence of factors that conspired to give the Devils a stinker.

Tonight, an ass kicking.

Easier to move from this one, actually, than the Ottawa loss.
That's how I see it. This team is probably going to lose that matchup against the Bruins more often than not. Best to put that one in the rearview and focus on Friday's game. Playing a team that will have played a tough team the night before, that should be a good chance to get back in the groove.

At least we're spared the PDB press conference tonight. If there's one thing I don't want to see, it's him pooh-pooing a 6-1 loss and being so calm he's emotionless. Lemaire would have a few things to say about this one

Just wanted to say that I'm really impressed with Mark Fayne. I hadn't seen much from him in any other game I've watched. I don't know how I missed him. Late bloomer, I assume... Real solid.

Cheers.
Tonight was not Fayne's best performance. If you're impressed with this, you should see him when he's on.

Sad that every team we previously lost to we came out, and played them next time a lot better, and we beat every one of them the second time until tonight. Really though we played the Bruins MUCH better the first time. Better not drop the ball with Florida that's all I can say. If they lose to Florida, then it's Pittsburgh, and you may as well lose to every team on that road trip in Canada.

The Devils have given up a PP goal in the last 4, and have lost to the same team twice this season for the first time.

For a bit there, I thought the entire NHL was completely screwed.

That third period may have been the worst defensive play I have seen from NJ in a long time. And if not the worst, easily top 5. Just brutal. Soft as ****ing ****. Really had no issues with a loss, but to play that ****ing lousy in the third period....dear lord.

well that went poorly. there are a bunch of holes in this team but nothing worth getting worked up over. maybe this'll be a wakeup call. maybe pete'll throw some chairs and change the lines. probably not. either way hopefully we won't suck this bad next game.

I'd rather have the off night against Boston than a team we're actually chasing for a playoff spot. Then again, even when we have on nights we still manage to give away points to those teams, but nobody cares after we win the shootout
