I think you're very unlikely to see some major re-tooling like Regier did in 2002 when it was obvious the team was on a downhill slide and needed a facelift.
Briere was brought in, Hecht was brought in, CuBro was traded, etc etc.
I could see an approach more like what Regier did in 2000 - he had an underachieving team that wasn't living up to the high expectations after the Cup run or solid finish to the '98-'99 regular season. He gave up on some of his younger guys (Grosek, Holzinger, Sarich) to bring in experience, size and depth at center in Gilmour, Dumont and Gratton for a playoff push.
If Pegula pushes him, Regier may let go of the lovefest with Roy, Stafford and maybe Ennis or Sekera towards adding some center depth.
