I believe he was sick and missed the last couple of pre-season games, maybe that's a factor. He did not look good in the season opener but apparently he looked very good yesterday despite not registering a point. He will be just fine, that type of skill doesn't just go away. Having him on the same line as his father is not a good idea though, they were split up after just one game last season.
I always have thought that Nylander is a notch ahead Kapanen. Kapanen has been improving alot in recent years. This year he has been one of the best players of his struggling club. Last U18WJC proved us that there isn't a big gap between Nylander and Kapanen anymore and by end of the year Kapanen could be ahead. Both are really talented players and it's great competition for top spot from europe. I still think that Nylander is the favourite and will improve his game. Kapanen has chance to be supriser of the draft. He has been growing fast and plays high tempo hockey which fits perfectly in NA ice.
Nylander is great fit for Swedish prospect group. We have seen alot of really good two-way fowards but not so many elite offensive wizards like Nylander.
Size, physical play and his defensive game mainly. How will his game translate to the NHL? He's also a bit careless with the puck sometimes, that will probably change once he gains more experience though.
Hope he can step up his game in all other aspects then just his offense, i have seen many games with him in the last year and his defensive game is poor and he seems nonchalant in most games, if he continues the way he started this season i think he could fall out of the top ten really fast.
Hes a cocky little ****, and not in the good Kadri or Subban kind of way.
I'm getting a bit annoyed at how easily some posters tend to critic the way Subban handles himself in the media. Sure, i might be bias, but maybe my opinion counts more since i watch every single Habs game, and listen to his interviews. The guy has eaten some serious humble pie during the last couple of years, especially since Therrien is in town, and has really toned it down. Says the right things, keeps it simple. He's become an easy target for the ''cocky'' stereotype even if he hasn't acted that way for a while. In front of the cameras at least..
Sorry for going off topic.
MODO with the win against Orebro (2-1). Nylander with one Assist in his debut on a goal scored by Adrian Kempe. Initially the goal was scored by Oscar Hedman but finally they credit Kempe with the goal.
