Bill freaking Guerin returned a 1st as a rental, I think Teemu would get at least that.

Are you ******** me? Wasn't it conditional on winning the cup?

Just like Iginla will waive his NMC to win a cup (says he doesn't want to).

Selanne came back to play for the Ducks to win a cup. He was ready to retire last year without one.

Seeing as no one else would bid on him, and it's as easy as telling the face of the franchise he has to leave, you can pick him up at the airport.

If you don't mind, i'd like for the Anaheim Ducks fans to respond instead of on lookers who haven't made a proposal.

By the way, he was also quoted as saying he wouldn't mind winning another cup after being traded to a contender.

I'm quite sure Perry and Getzlaf are the faces of the franchises. He was the face of the Jets.

Anyways, a 2nd round pick, will turn into a first if we make the finals.

Kudo's?

Murray has also been quoted as saying that he will retire as a Duck. The point is moot.

Yeah, he's only played here for 11.5 seasons, holds most of our records, won a Stanley Cup with us, is considered the real captain of the team, said he'd like to retire here and play for Finland this Summer, Murray has said he won't ask him to waive, and he's going to be the first number we retire, but yes, it's Getzlaf, not Selanne.

Mike Modano retired a Dallas Star... the following season.

Michalek?!?!? You would probably have to add Z-bad and a second and that still might not be enough. Ryan is far more valuable than Michalek, off year and all.

Fine. It's a fair point. But still even as a rental, you don't trade a PPG powerplay specialist who happens to be one of the game's greats for anything less than a first. If it's an elite playoff team the sacrifice of that first shouldn't even be too high. Its the price you pay to make a run.

Come on man. Selanne is the Ducks. He's on his 13th season here. Perry and Getzlaf are on their way, but you're a little off base.

And that proposal ain't gonna cut it.

dude you are crazy. Seriously delusional. The only way we get that little is if he says he will only wave to 1 or 2 teams.

No, the Blues traded Bill Guerin to the Sharks for:

1st round pick (David Perron)
Ville Nieminen (who Ron Wilson could not stand)
Jay Barribal

Maybe this has been mentioned already... but if NJ can't get Parise signed.

Bob Ryan + Vatanen/Palmeiri/holland +2nd
for
Parise

NJ gets 1st line wing signed for 4+ years at a bargain, good prospect, 2nd

Anaheim gets the best 1st line in the league...

Way off?

Why would we do that? Parise will cost an extra couple mill over Bobby and won't be that much of an upgrade and doesn't fill any of our needs while trading away prospects who might be able to.

Yikes no thanks, if Parise won't sign with NJ why would he want to sign for us? Pretty sure he'd rather test the market.

There is nothing wrong with our current first line, they are in a slump but they've been one of the best lines in the league for a few years before this year.

If we're trading a great young winger on a great contract + one of our best prospects I'd want the signed thing in return, not a maybe, but then again a signed Parise stays in NJ.

Im a fan of Bobby, but I think Parise is a better all around player. And, his speed would ignite the team IMO. We are gonna be a damn slow team once Teemu/Koivu/ even Blake retire. I also think a player like him would encourage the twins to resign.

And why would Parise stay? This just makes us more top heavy and takes one of our top prospects and basically a late 1st.

No
