the ASG

so the starters have been announced, same joke as every year

no Blues forwards in the top30

no Blues defenders in the top20

our goalies are 18th (Halak) and 19th (Elliott) among votes, so not going IMO

no surprises, no whining but just a few questions to my fellow Blues-fans:

who do you want to go?
who do you think will go?
who should go?
do you even care?
do you even watch?

Backes will get the pitty spot again.

I rarely watch All-star games.

That includes MLB and the NFL, and I don't watch any NBA games.

Let them stay home, rest up, and get ready for the 2nd half push for the playoffs. ASG are gay.

The game itself is never too exciting, as it does not mean anything. I think the Skills comp is entertaining though and it seems the players always enjoy themselves.

I enjoy the skills competition and it is entertaining. The game itself I don't care about to be frank. The players don't seem to enjoy it as much as the skills aspect. Then again, it is also different mind sets too. One is skills and not the pressure to be the "best of the best" in combat mode.

I'm pretty sure the league ensures that all teams have at least one representative. It will probably be Backes, but I think Elliott really deserves some credit.

Don't the coaches get to name a couple players, too?

Frankly, I'd prefer if the whole team just got the time off to rest and reload for the stretch run....but I also don't begrudge any players the chance to go shine and enjoy the spotlight for a while. Backes was a good ambassador last year.

Considering the NHL ASG is played with the intensity of pick-up roller hockey til about the last 2 minutes, Im surprised it gets as much attention as it does. The skills competition is entertaining, but until Perron starts putting up #s that are all-star worthy, any other St. Louis representative would be an embarassment to the league.

I'd much rather see Pietrangelo go, but I'm sure it will be Backes. Elliot I think would have a decent chance if it wasn't for his lack of minutes. As far as who I think should go if it was all chosen right now...I would have to say Oshie. Yes, I watch All-Star game and yes I care. I think it's nice to see the better players of the league get recognition and a chance to relax for once and show off some of their skill.

I'd like to see Perron go. If he'd had the full season to work with, I think he'd have earned it.
