Umm Koivu and Selanne will likely retire in the summer...and that team looks worst then what we have. If you think Hartnell and Talbot will change the franchise for the better then you are seriously not thinking about this clearly
With this deep draft, those are potentially great assets. They don't have to do anything stupid, stay the course this year, see if we can end up moving some impending UFA's (with their blessing in some cases) and look forward to the draft.
Unless Nashville thinks they can't sign Weber (assuming health) and wants a young 1st line forward under contract in return.
Would love to bring back Moen. He's improved his offensive game this year, and we know he's very good on his own side of the blueline too. He'd bring back some of that tough as nails forecheck culture this team desperately needs back.
I know there are the rumors out there that anyone's up for grabs, and so I'm sure you guys have heard tons and tons of Getzlaf proposals, but I have another one...
To Anaheim:
1. C- Derek Roy
2. G- Ryan Miller
3. Choice of: LW- Tyler Ennis or RW- Drew Stafford
4. Choice of: D-Mark Pysyk or RW- Joel Armia or C- Luke Adam
To Buffalo:
1. C- Ryan Getzlaf
2. G- Jonas Hiller
-My thinking is, you give up Getzlaf, he's a top-5/10 center in the league, and have to give Hiller, but you get an upgrade in net (an all-star, Olympian and guy who can carry a team on his shoulders, trust me, in the right situation, he can, easily). You get a downgrade from Getzlaf, but a guy who is still capable of centering a top line for a playoff team, and will likely play better with guys like Perry and Ryan on his wings. You get a dynamic, young, NHL winger in your choice of Stafford or Ennis. Stafford is signed for the next 3 seasons after this at $4M cap hit, but has 30-40 goal capability when he's on his game. Ennis is a dynamic player with 70pt potential who adds speed to your forward corps. And you also get your choice of one of our top prospects... Pysyk adds an eventual right handed defender to pair with Fowler or Sbisa. Armia would eventually replace Selanne. Or Adam would be that 2nd line center behind Roy that Anaheim has been looking for really since Andy McDonald left.
Is it true that Brad Stuart wants to return to Califonia due to family reasons? If he will we should do everything to sign him, then trade Lydman for something, sign 6th/7th d-man like Lepisto, of course re-sign Beauch and we will have good refreshing in our defence...
not bad at all...I would also like to trade Cogs, because he isn't top six guys and I prefer Hagman - Koivu - DSP as a third line...still a fan of Konopka as a 4th line center...
hey guys, flyers fan here just looking for some info. there are some rumors i've been hearing out here about you guys possibly shopping getslaf and bobby ryan. are there any truth to those rumors or is it just more wishful thinking from us flyers fans?

They're available for the right offer, not really being shopped though

Nothing says they're being shopped, but we're willing to listen to offers. The earliest anyone on our top unit gets actively shopped is in the summer, when there are fewer constraints.
Stuart would be interesting but only for a moment. Whenever I seem to watch him these days he seems to make a Whintey-like boneheaded play. Most of those came in the playoffs too.
Elliotte Friedman mentioned tonight that Perry and Fowler are 'borderline' untouchable as well. Says teams think Getzlaf might be available for ridiculous offer or if they don't think can sign him next year. He thinks Ryan is the one that could be moved. Nothing really groundbreaking here...

Still sounds like they all want to move to Toronto
