Scouting assignments(we need YOU!)

As some of you know, I've been doing some work keeping up with the stats thus far for some of our prospects, and I think that with no other hockey to occupy us, we might as well chart the progress of some of our top prospects. However, the task would be daunting to tackle myself, so I'd like some volunteers to each take on 2 or 3 prospects, and give us regular updates as to their numbers\interesting facts. I figure that since I've been following Radulov, Darzins and Weber, I'll be happy to continue doing so. Hillbilly...I know you like the rough stuff, so I thought that you could keep an eye on Nick Fugere(Gatineau, QMJHL) and Vaclav Meidl(Plymouth, OHL). I'd like to have a volunteer for:

Finland(Janne Niskala, Pekka Rinne, Teemu Lassila, Daniel Widing(is he even our prospect, anymore?) and Oliver Setzinger

NCAA: (Michael Santorelli, Kevin Schaefer, Craig Switzer)

Russia(Konstantin Glazachev, Grigori Shafigulin, Sergei Soin)

I'll try to post updates on lower grade prospects here and there, as well(guys like Kyle Moir from Swift Current, Denis Kulyash, etc)

I'm going to skip Milwaukee stats, as we'll all probably be following them this year(Smokey and I talked about starting GDTs if enough people listen to the games on the web)

Updates should be posted in the designated "Preds Prospects update," which I may start a 'year 2' of, once things get going.
For some of the bigger groups(Finland) if you guys want to break it up a bit...be my guest. However, if you feel up to the undertaking...more power to you. Thanks in advance, on behalf of your HFBoards brethren!

Confirmed Assignments
Shea Weber, Alexander Radulov, Lauris Darzins- nomorekids
Michael Santorelli, Janne Niskala, Alex Sulzer- crossxcheck
Konstantin Glazachev, Grigori Shafigulin, Sergei Soin- SevenNationArmy
Denis Kulyash, Andrei Mukhachev, Kevin Schaeffer- Eaton4
Teemu Lassila, Pekka Rinne- handtrick
Craig Switzer, Oliver Setzinger- Enoch
Vaclav Meidl, Nick Fugere- hillbilly

Terrific! Now, the rest of you need to step up to the plate. SNA, Handtrick...my Mod status allows me to see you lurking even when you're "invisible!" Pay your dues!

Ideally, I'd like to get at least an update, preferably 2 a week from you guys. It'll take you five minutes to procure . I'll probably update after every game that my guys play.

sounds good to me. sidikov might be in RSL2, though...so the first three is probably good enough.

I'll take the NCAA guys, I'm a huge BU fan, so covering Schaeffer will be no problem. I'm going to watch 2 BU games next weekend (Friday night against Miami-Ohio, and Saturday night against Michigan). I'll report back on his off season progress after that, and keep up with all 3 guys throughout the season.

I also keep up with CSKA Moscow (Denis Kulyash, Sergei Soin), so I can report on those guys from time to time. Kulyash had a big game last Friday, scoring a goal and adding 2 assists in CSKA's 7-0 rout of Spartak Moscow. Future Pred defenseman Andrei Mukhachev also had an assist in the game.

Wow, that's terrific! Actual in person experience is the best(i'm going to see Radulov play in January, hopefully). Why don't you take Kulyash, Mukhachev and Schaeffer, then?

Mukhachev should be in Milwaukee when training camp starts, but I'll cover the others.

I had thought so too, but it doesn't bode well if he's starting the season for Spartak. Should he come to play for the Ads, then disregard him

Defenseman Denis Kulyash has 3 goals and 2 assists and is a plus 4 with 2 penalty minutes in 9 games with the Red Army, tied for the team lead in goals and points.

Andrei Mukhachev has 2 assists, 4 penalty minutes and is a plus 1 in 4 games for the Red Army.

I believe the site is www.sm-liiga.fi

you'll have to decipher finnish, but..numbers are an international language . Lassila plays for TPS...and Rinne plays for Karpat. you can also use www.hockeydb.com

you mean Daniel Widing? I think he still is..though he's falling off the radar, so those other two would be better. Dennis Wideman is an ex Sabres prospect who is currently on a tryout with the blues, i believe.

Yes, yes...I just read Widemans name in the Organizational thread . I'll take care of those two, and even though it took a few minutes, I found out where Switzer is playing this year.

if they aren't careful, they might lose me to the OSHL. I heard Detroit needs a third line LW.
