Not really necessary, but Parros isn't the biggest liability out there and could be useful for next time they play the Bruins.

The Canucks are so deep that playing a 1 dimensional guy once to fight Thornton makes sense, especially as it will cost them scraps.

I wouldn't mind Parros on the Habs, he's a good guy and while he's useless at hockey it wouldn't be that much of a step down from Darche or Weber as a forward, but he's a dying breed who shouldn't be playing more than 10 games a season. He will only fight other enforcers so he won't do anything to increase energy, merely give fans who enjoy that sort of thing something to watch and be a good locker room presence.

And from what I see on the trade proposals board, Ducks fans are more than happy to get rid of him.

Just a rumor for now.

Edit: a rumor that McKenzie squashed on twitter

Getting a bunch of tweets asking me about possible Parros to VAN deal. Can tell you ANA and VAN have not had single discussion on Parros.

Agree with a lot of what you say here.

I think that there are a few more Bruins who would engage Parros, like McQuaid and possibly even Horton since he is a hothead. Chara would throw with Parros. Lucic, no way. He only fights undersized non-fighters.

Stanley Cup Finals.

There are other teams in the NHL that have tough guys, including lots of teams in the West. This signing will help when they play teams other than Bruins.

I know it's not his first game, but just like to reiterate that another pick of our 2003 draft is playing in the NHL. And frankly, I would have NEVER bet anything that he would have. Kudos to Mark Flood of the Jets to have made it and develop himself the way he did.

I was at the Pens-Lightning game yesterday in Tampa. The Bolts are the worst NHL team I've ever seen play live in person....got grossly outplayed the entire game. Poor goaltending, poor defense, poor discipline, poor effort, poor coaching. People here think the Habs are a mess.

Golden Boy Guy Boucher sure isn't so golden anymore. I just can't see how he is back in TB next year. The players obviously aren't responding to his message and a lot of his peers around the NHL don't think so highly of him. It will be an interesting offseason if he gets canned and we have a head coach opening.

wow buffalo looks BAD. they were supposed to be top 5 in the conference and they stink, losing 5-0 to wings in second. miller was pulled...myers looking like subban at times and what an awful signing with leino. and to think cole's signing was considered worse.

leino 3 goals 7 assists minus 7

Both teams went in a completely different direction. Maybe they should try to move Miller

A lot of people were laughing at that signing. I remember MathMan on the mainboard trying to explain to everyone that Leino got soft minutes on a stacked offensive.

I knew Leino wasn't anything but a third line player, but he's not even putting up respectable third line numbers. The worse part is his stupid contract is going to inflate everyone else this summer.

I'd love to sign a guy like Tuomo Ruutu for the third line(if we're doing a one year "rebuild"), but he put up nearly identical stats to Leino last year, plus he's not a softie.
