I never said they did...not this summer...in 2013 they'll have to let somebody walk...but unless they dump some money they won't be signing any 6-7 mil UFA's.
So they'll give Parise/Suter a career long deal at 5.x cap hit.

-they could have two cups by then, maybe 3
-they're deep enough and young enough in key positions they might not have to. thank Burke for that one
I will always have a hard time calling a Cup win as lucky and fluky so I will not start. But people saying that the Bruins were lucky with their 3 OT win....well we had 10 OT wins in 1993....who said we were lucky? When you win as much, it has more to do with confidence than luck. Yes, luck will always be part of every championship, whether it's absence of injuries. Whether it's good bounces. But it does for everybody. To a point that we shouldn't talk about it. Or at least, not choose to talk when it pleases us.
Yep. Same conference....worst scenario of them all unless....we start understand who we will be facing and ADJUST once and for all. Yet, finding guys that can play hockey and be tough, most teams will keep them. Or you'll have to draft them. We will have to modify our drafting strategy.
I would not call it fluky but they did seem to get a lot of calls their way in the playoffs.
And each team won a cup and both are top teams this year.
Hawks barely made the PO's last year, after shipping out 6 guys...it happens...
They have returned to form this year though...
As for the B's, they are having a great season right now, and have had no adversity, let's give them some time, who knows...ripe for an upset in April? Hopefully we are still playing...

From our perspective. From Boston's perspective, they'll tell you they were robbed more than usual. Will our board be objective when it comes to Boston? Come on.

Hope, it is the quintessential human delusion, simultaneously the source of our greatest strength, and our greatest weakness.

Watching them beat us in the playoffs the last two times we've met (and taking us to a game 7 as heavy underdogs 4 years ago) + watching them win the cup last year was a ****ing punch in the face.
i can't think of a more objective dose of hard facts
Will sound opportunistic.....but as far as we need to more present in the Q. We need to be more present in Sweden as well. Only 4 Swedes in 8 years. But 2 on 2 drafts lately so it might be a sign to come. But I'm mostly talking about Swedes in the first couple of rounds instead of just fillers.
Canada got into a no system game against the Russians and gave up too many odd man rushes. They tried to beat them on pure firepower and it didn't work. Plus I think it's safe to say the Russians cared more about beating Canada than anything else.
"I haven't really put a lot of thought into it, but he's [Thomas] got a year left on his contract and mine is up obviously, but I want to stay here. I'm sure they have a plan for that too and it will all work out good. I'm a young guy and I want to have a long future ahead of me as a Bruin and make more good things happen for the team and our fans."

agreed. it was their gold medal game yesterday - and canada's goalie stunk yesterday...shot disparity was similar last night too
