NEWS & NOTES

QUOTES TO NOTE

In Montreal, we did a horrible job defensively. I thought we did a great job sticking to the basics and going zone by zone, getting the puck out and keeping it simple tonight.
- Dan Girardi

I think we're more mature. We know how we have to play. So far, every time we lose our focus on how we have to play, we correct it pretty fast. That's key.
If you want to stay in top position, you have to correct things right away. You can't let it slide. It's a really good thing to have.
- Henrik Lundqvist

When we got into a track meet there in the second period for six or seven minutes, Hank made some really good saves. He played very well.
He lost the last two, and he was itching to go. I still think we made quite a few mistakes in situations, but I think he played well when we had breakdowns.
- John Tortorella

Always happy to see your GDT's, Loffen. Hopefully we could get a nice little streak going before the all-star break. The Pen's are clearly banged up without Letang, Crosby and Staal. But Malkin has been absolutely carrying this team on his back so Girardi and McD have to shut him down. LETS GO BOYS!

Pascal Dupuis, currently centering the Pens' second line, was briefly Rangers property before being packaged with a 3rd round pick for Alex Bourret.

Ouch.

I'm honestly not terrified of malkin one bit. He's an amazing player and all and he plays for my team in the olympics but his recent hot streak has been against TERRIBLE defensive teams, So i'm confident that we can shut down the pens lone major offensive threat.

Hopefully gabby/richards get on the board tonight like last time

That is a jinx right there buddy But the Rangers really should win against the injury riddled Pens

The penguins are injury ridden. I personally guarantee a NYR win! (unfortunately I'm a nobody so that guarantee doesn't mean ****)

Pens are a really well drilled team so the raners will need to bring their A game. If the rangers can out work them, their skill should put them over the top.

Here's hoping that the 2nd line can get something going

Gotta shut down Malkin who has been going at around 1.5 PPG pace for over a month now.

A legit contender wins this game and wins it convincingly.

Strange things can happen though..

Go get those two points.

They're playing better than the last time the Rangers saw them.

Still, this should be a win.

4-2 Bluesh!ts.

The Penguins are never a team to underestimate, injuries or no injuries. The Rangers have to treat this like any other game against a challenging opponent. If they play their brand of hockey and play it right, they'll win the game.

Going to this game tonight too after going to the Nashville game. Last 4 games I've been to were on 11/6, 11/26, 12/26, and 1/17. Look at the scores for them all and tell me what they have in common. Let's keep that trend going!!!

Shut down Malkin and Neal, win the game. It's simple. Get pucks on Fleury as he's known for the occasional gaffe.

We're playing very well against the division, let's not change that.

They also might get Letang back for tonight's game, and he's key to them.

Gotta keep the momentum rolling for Saturday's game. Gotta maintain that ridiculous 9-1 record over Atlantic Division teams

Make it 10 boys, LGR

I cant believe people are still making statements like these. Dunno why but nothing pisses me off quite like definitive statements about the impact of a single solitary game in an 82 game season.
