Komi And Brown "Expected" For Saturday, Frattin and Holzer Sent Down

jonasTSN1050Jonas Siegel

Brown and Komisarek expected to return tomorrow. Armstrong suffered a setback with his concussion, will remain off ice for a couple days.

Despite playing his best hockey the last two games, have to assume it's Aulie on D?

As for forward, that fourth line has been nothing short of impressive, which makes for a tough decision? Do you take Crabb off the second line, move Frattin up and put Brown in on the fourth? Or does Boyce or Frattin get the hook? What about letting Lombardi sit, if based on merit, that's your guy?

It's Aulie and Frattin. I believe practice lines were:

Boyce-Steckel-Brown

Feel a bit bad for Aulie, really looked good last couple games. As for Frattin, that's a shame.

Aulie, Holzer, Frattin and Crabb are all possibilities imo.

Would really like to see Holzer in a game though.

I would expect the same, depending on Phanuefs condition.

Yup frattin is down. He has been good but a half and half split will be fine for him. Any word on phaneuf yet?

I'd rather have Aulie and Holzer go down (if possible) and play games instead of sit. I'd prefer Crabb out of the lineup over Frattin too I think. It'd hard to say, I bet it's Frattin because of how well the Grabo line's been.

Bump Mac to the 2nd line w/ Grabo and Kadri, bump Frattin up to the 3rd w/ Lombardi and Kulemin, and put Brown on the 4th with Steckel and Boyce. Take Crabb out. As for D, take Aulie out, put Gunnarsson w/ Phaneuf, Gardiner w/ Schenn, and Komi w/ Franson.

Should be Schenn and Lombardi, but I could go with Schenn and Crabb or Frattin.

Komisarek doesn't play left d.

So who is going to be flopped over to the wrong side to mess things up against a puck moving team like the Wings?

Desjardins estimates that about 40% of the game is captured by Corsi analysis.

Lupul - Connolly - Kessel
Kadri - Grabovski - Kulemin
Frattin - Lombardi - MacArthur
Brown - Steckel - Boyce/Crabb

Gunnarsson - Phaneuf
Gardiner - Schenn
Franson - Komisarek

Day to day, Wilson said he'll probably play Saturday.

What do you mean "down"?

The way I see it, Frattin can use more development in the AHL, Crabb doesn't. Plus Crabb has played very well and Fratttin seems to be struggling as of late.

Crabb has been better than Frattin imo and if they want Frattin to develop more of a scorers touch, he should be playing top line minutes with the Marlies. If they see him as a career 3rd liner then he should stay

Me too, and with Kuli really coming on for the PK, Crabb is slightly less important.

I heard an interview with Franson saying how he's never played left d and how uncomfortable he is there. he was trying to learn it but with Komi out got to go back to right d. I think its definitely contributed to his improvement.

Putting him back on the left and with Komi would really suck

Yes, I noticed that the other night as well, when Frattin got those 2 points, second star And, you'll notice last night that fourth line was out as much as anyone, doesn't quite jive with your assessment.

I'd have to guess Aulie and Crabb but can see Aulie and Frattin going down.

Yeah I agree, but I don't really see a way around it unfortunately.

Just my opinion, and this would never happen, but id rather have Lombardi out than Frattin. Lombardi is speed with absolutely zero hockey sense. Put Boyce on the 3rd with Kadri and Mac, then have Frattin - Steckel -- Brown on the 4th.

Agreed. Lombardi has been a passenger all year long, he has done nothing. At least Frattin runs the boards, wins pucks to get out of our zone, even when he isn't contributing, he's still contributing.

With all these bodies coming back, the Lombardi experiment is getting old fast.

The Leafs didn't trade to GET Lombardi, they took his contract and injury to GET Franson. We don't owe him anything, time to put up, free pass days are done.
