Thankfully for the Blues, our franchise defenseman showed up and saved our behinds, cause we were looking like sht in the 2nd period.

Good game. You've got a heck of a young core.
It would be nice if we stopped seeing posts like this. I want other fans to hate our team.

And your powerplay destroyed the Oilers in the third and scored when they absolutely had to. It's infinitely better.

Our power play looks more often like it looked in the first period than in the third.

That's why it's ranked 29th and yours is ranked 2nd.

You can think that all you want. The Oilers started the year 8-2-2. They are 8-19-1 since then. Gilbert has only missed 2 of those games.

They were 2-8 in the 10 games before Gilbert got hurt. This is just a bad hockey team.

Meh, Oilers outplayed them for the most part and got very unlucky with several goal posts. I come to expect blown leads from them so this comes as no surprise, what can ya do? They will start to win these types of games eventually, i love the effort level from the team. On to the next one.

Anyway, who cares about this game? Sweden won an epic game and Klefbom was awesome, that's what this night is about.

im in such a mood to hate.

would anyone take dubnyk right now? We should take a back up or a farm goalie on some other team and bring him to our organization. His energy alone would surpass what the giraffe has to offer.

I'm done with Devan. I hate being a hater. Man. Im so mad. I'm normally glass 3/4 full guy. But Im done. My lack of empathy worries me. Am I becoming a less loyal fan? Maybe in the future there will be a just-reward for enduring this but I dont see it with this personnel. That's the part that worries me. Hell, bring Tyler Bunz in for a week just to let Dubnyk know his role is not secure.

I wince when EVERY shot is taken.

Every single one.

Then I guess Narnia is right, we miss Barker.

If you don't think Gilbert's absence hurts you're dreaming.

Yeah, and sooner or later the talent will translate into wins.

Just ask the Blues.

we're a young team in the back half of a long road trip. the team is developing into a competitor. let's not hit the panic button.

I might have more confidence in our rebuild if it was being built by a GM with more experience than Tambellini.

This team has had glaring holes in the line-up for years that have not been rectified, and obviously management is in no hurry to fill said holes.

It's frustrating, because this team has the talent, it's just you can only go so far with talent before you start suffering.

This team will never be a playoff team as long as Lowe/Tambellini are in charge.

It doesn't matter where they're ranked. The Oilers can only score on the powerplay and the Blues found a way to make their struggling powerplay come up with two important tallies.

The Oilers do have some promising parts, but it would be nice to try to improve the team and improve before the season is done, instead of accepting another low finish.

Gilbert is a good hockey player don't get me wrong. But he clearly is not the difference between this team being good and bad. He has played a prominent role on this team in each of the last 3 years which we have been terrible. And yeah we do actually miss Barker. But it's much more than that. In an ideal world Smid and Gilbert make up a solid 2nd pairing. This team lacks 2 true top pairing guys. Whitney showed he could be that last year for 35 games but injuries seem to have slowed him down to a crawl.

I don't remember any of those teams having the type of talent the Oilers have right now. Not lately.

He's the difference between a win and a loss tonight, and maybe even in Buffalo too.

People want a better defense but when you're missing your best 2-way d-man and your best offensive defenseman is... well, whatever's wrong with Whitney, it hurts.

Every defender on this team is playing at least two notches above what they would on a contender. Potter and Peckham belong in the minors, as should Petry, imo he's still got some kinks to work out. Sutton should be the #7.

Gah. Who am I even talking to? Why does it matter? Goodnight, all.
