Looks like Nashville is sending Lindback down again to get some games played instead of sitting and watching from the bench. Smith is on his way up to Nashville. Link to come soon.

I wonder if they are showcasing him for TBL scouts so they can get a look at him in some game action. Apparently, NSH (along with STL [Halak] & MIN [Harding]) scouts were at the TBL game tonight. And SFY was at the MIN VAN game to likely check out Harding. Folks in MIL should keep an eye out for SFY drive-bye.

So who's being showcased? Lindback in Milwaukee where he'll get to play, or Smith? I guess it makes sense for it to be Lindback.

Very interesting. As soon as this is verified that Lindback is for sure going to Mil, let the trade rumours begin.

Well, here it is: http://www.ontheforecheck.com/

We did this last year with dex as well to get lindback a few games in so I'm not totally convinced this is showcasing. But if it is, who might be coming back from TBL?

Roloson and a 2nd rounder? What's the price tag?

We have no need for roloson. Our trade needs are a top 4 defenseman and a scoring winger. We aren't in the market for picks or salary dumps.

Lindback is one of our most valuable trade chips. The only way I see him traded for a prospect or pick is if we then flip what we acquire for him to address our needs

I don't know if he is being showcased. As fans, I think we make that stuff up to keep ourselves entertained. They can pop in a tape and watch him play.

What I do know is Lindback started the Washington game, and has had a few releif appearances over the past few weeks, and we are hitting the point where we will be riding pekka almost every game. It makes sense to give him some work with MIL having 3 games this weekend. He can play 2 of them and then swap them back on Monday.

I agree. I hear this "showcase" stuff and think, when has Poile ever traded someone after Trotz gave them a game or two when they otherwise wouldn't play.

They are probably just giving Lindy and Blumer a little work in MIL.

I really don't think we should trade him until the offseason, unless he's part of a package for a top-6. If it's a one-for-one for something like a pick, I think it's a huge mistake with half the season left.

Ditto. He's not worth much by himself and needs to be just one part of a package. I'm glad Lindy is getting some playing time. I couldn't imagine how impatient he gets with the potential he knows he has.

Tape? What are those? Are those the things people used 2 decades ago to watch video?

But yes, I agree. If teams wanted to see him play, they would pop in a dvd of him playing and watch. He is getting rusty and there is not many back-to-back games here for a few weeks. So let's let him get his game sharpened so he can help us win a few of these back-to-back games here in 2-3 weeks.

Smith has been a solid starter in Milwaukee but likely won't play up here unless (God forbid) Rinne gets pulled.

this move is likely just to get Lindback some playing time. The Preds did the same thing around this time last year with Lindback and Dekanich

reading the box score he gave up 3 goals on 33 shots in a 6-3 win. 2 of the goals were PP goals for Lake Erie

Didn't see the game so I dunno how he actually looked, but he made 30 saves on 33 shots. Ads defeat Lake Erie 6-3

He looked good to me. One of the PP goals went off an Admirals skate (Laakso I think, not completely sure though.)

It was Laakso. It happened 30 feet away from me. The third goal was a shortie, so Lake Erie never scored 5-on-5. Lindback made some good saves with positioning. He covers a lot of net and didn't give up many rebounds. LE couldn't score in the last 2 minutes with a 6-on-4 advantage. Bartley saved a goal, twice, at the end. Blum was okay. Latta had a Gordie Howe hat trick. Stortini was everywhere on the ice. He really got under the Monsters skin. He had 2 fights and LEMs were after him for #3.

Lindback looked tall. Hugh Jessiman tried to screen him in the second period. Anders looked over his shoulder easily. He can drop down into a butterfly really fast.
