That is a short list of the palyers he identifies as the core and the best players. He's talking about building around Benn by adding to the top six, and he does not mention several names that currently play in the top six.

If you want to read into it, you can start to see what Gaglardi, and maybe Nieuwy, thinks of much of the roster by the names he doesn't mention.

I go hard after JVR. He's ONLY 22.

Putting him up there with Benn and Eriksson is a no brainer. Get rid of Glennie, and let Ott's penalty troubles go elsewhere.

Ott+Glennie+2nd for JVR. It's even at that point.

So everyone but:

Benn
Dowell*
Eriksson
Garbutt*
Vincour
Wandell*

Fistric
Goligoski
Larsen

Lehtonen (28, but no way we're trading him)
Bachman*

* means I think they could still be moved, or just don't have enough value to be traded.

So if they are sticking anyone 27 in the trade zone, then what are the chances of JVR coming here? I do like Ott, Glennie and a 2nd seems fair to me.

I love how Ott, Glennie, 2nd has essentially become the official JvR offer at this point. Honestly though, Im starting to sour on the idea of trading Glennie. As weird as it sounds I'm starting to feel like Glennie could end up being a great player in the future.

JVR is a bigger player (size wise) He's been in a winning culture, and he can shoot really, REALLY well.

Im well aware of JVRs repetoire, and I'm a strong proponent of trading quite a bit for him, including Glennie. Im just hoping we can find a way to trade for him without Glennie, though wouldnt be heartbroken if we did.

Could do a D prospect like Klingberg. Nemeth and Oleksiak are untouchable to me.

Maybe instead of Glennie do a Ott+1st+2nd/3rd That's a whole damn lot though. Don't see that happening.

Ott+Robidas+3rd could work. Not sure how that goes with Philly's cap situation though.

I'd also rather trade Campbell over Glennie if they'd go for it. Not sure they would though. Reuniting Schenn and Glennie would probably be a want of Philly's.

I think they will push for JVR but its the cost of what it will take to pry him away from philly.

If you Trade Campbell where is our goaltending depth after Beskro? Nowhere. Giving up any of our goalies who are all pretty damn good prospects and players is messing with a pretty bad spot to have to draft for.

Campbells gotta be worth more than Glennie at thiis point. Despite Glennie really starting to look like a quality top 6 prospect and a possible Dallas Top Sixer as soon as next year, I'd still look to trade him.

If we're trading him this year, I'd rather not trade Robidas, if we do it in the offseason I'd be fine with Ott, Robidas and a 3rd.

At this point I say **** it. Trade him, call up Dillon, and just see how things work out the rest of the way down the stretch.

yeah I guess I'm of the opinion that a guy like Ott or Robidas or Burish isn't going to be the difference between us making the playoffs or not. The difference is going to be if Jamie Benn can come back and carry this team down the stretch run.

If there's good deals out there, Dallas better be getting in on that.

Yeah I'd be fine with that but I'd like a veteran defenseman going down the strech, even if Robi is only a 4th-5th defensemen now.

I doubt it. The value of prospect goalies plunges into hibernation after they're drafted but before they've proven something in the NHL. Glennie's a higher selection playing reasonably well one step below the NHL. That has more value than a struggling Campbell. Just speaking in general, obviously it depends on the particular team's needs.

That quote by Gagliardi has pulled me back from the ledge. I know he can't say "we're sellers" because it makes us sound like desperate crack ******. Glennie or Campbell I don't care. I'd be willing to trade them back LA's 2nd so Ott, Glennie/Campbell, and the 2nd for JVR is a good hockey move for this club.

Burish and Sourey are guys, Burish had a nice week but he's not the difference in making the playoffs or not and his faceoff ability might net us a decent pick. Sourey going to allow Dillion or Benn to play the final 20 games means they might have a good evaluation as to whether either one is ready to fill a bottom six spot next season.

There are options and 3 games, two against bad teams shouldn't determine the future of this franchise. Please little baby Jesus make the difficult choices now for the betterment of our future.

Please keep Campbell. They have little use for him (Bryz for 9 more years), and we'd just look stupid for taking him over Fowler.

Glennie just makes more sense for both franchises.

Because of how good Oleksiak looks can we afford to trade Nemeth for JVR?

Ott + Nemeth and 2nd for JVR??

Philly could use a good prospect on D and we may be able to trade one of our best two guys as having the other maintains our depth.

Although I am a fan of Nemeth, but if we want JVR we may have to sacrifice..

Wouldn't like that at all. We need good defensive prospects. Oleksiak seems like a great pick, but Nemeth is almost as good.

Also don't think they'd be as interested in Nemeth as they would be in Glennie.
