It's time for a shakeup..otherwise this season is going to resemble the Bill's finish of their season.

Trade or firing (Hopefully both) are imminent. Must remove all the slackers. (Stafford and Roy but he's injured now... possibly more??) But something needs to change

The team is stale and has no fire...whether this is a result of coaching or the players...it's evident....IF..our GM made a substantial move and the team plays the same...maybe it's time for a coaching change.....even if we remove Ruff...it's still the same team on the ice

Honestly, the first moves that need to be made is dismissing Regier and Ruff.

Do you want either of those two having ANY input on changes, OR making changes to this team?

The damage is done. Let someone else make the moves that need to be made.

I've already written off this season. They may surprise me and squeak into a playoff spot but they will unceremoniously be squashed.

I don't want Darcy Regier or Lindy Ruff even having any input in hiring a new equipment manager much less tinkering further with personnel moves on this team.

Playoff spot or not, it will be a sham. This team DOES NOT DESERVE a playoff spot. They deserve the bottom. Ruff and Regier need to go, this is insanity. New players, new coach, new GM, it's the only way to feel confident things are different.

After years of disagreeing, they need to go. Pegula, the best will work for you, go hire the best first, then fire LR&DR

I am not picking on you personally, just the thought process of several posters saying things like this. The mindset of "deserving" anything! No team deserves to win, deserves to lose, deserves the cup, deserves to make or miss the playoffs. Like something is "owed" to the team albeit positive or negative. I don't know if it's an age thing, or a way some are raised in today's society, but, when it comes to sports, "deserving" is the last word that should be used. Maybe it's semantics, but that word really rubs me raw when used in certain ways. In Pegulas eyes, Regier, and Ruff have EARNED the positions they currently hold. Eventually (if things don't get better) Pegula will have a change of heart, I am 100% certain of it.

Rant over.

His move should be firing Ruff. Game after game there is a list of what Lindy sucks at.

I like how there's a concurrent thread with the Buffalo News saying that there will be no trading. Go figure, right?

Who knows what Pegula will do but Bucky's theory about Regier being demoted to scouting, after which a new GM gets hired who then decides on the fate of Ruff, could end up coming true...

...in which case, every other Sunday column by Bucky will remind readers "that's what I said they should have done in the beginning."

Does this team need a shake-up?

"I wouldn't call it a shake-up," Regier said. "If there's a move that makes sense for us, we'll do it if something is going to improve our hockey club. There's nothing imminent, as I said, right now."

"The effort's better," Regier said.
Against a cellar dweller garbage team that you should have blown out of the arena, you lose and say the efforts better? bite me!

Blow this thing up big time.

The problem with this attitude is that the Sabres are a garbage team, as I'm sure you know. CAROLINA is circling Buffalo on the schedule as a winnable game they can use to spark a turnaround. So are the other upcoming teams.

I had to laugh at Kevin's commentary the other night about how the Sabres should be able to go on a winning streak over the course of the next several games.

There is a sort of in-grained arrogance in the Buffalo hockey world, media, fans and what not. It's very much undeserved.

I believe Darcy has to go in order for Lindy to go. Darcy will not move Lindy, and Pegula seems to like Lindy a lot.
