I made the trip from Barrie to Hamilton to take in my first AHL game and my first Albany devils game. I cam away impressed with Gelinas, the guy played like a beast. Passes were solid, shots were pretty good. He was on the first pp unit. It is scary on how much he style wise looks like Pronger.
Zharkov looked frustrated the whole game, I am sorry folks but i can see him leaving North America to go home.
teddy was flying around but nothing solid as a result of his hustle. Corrente played a solid game, he was flexing is leg the whole night, he kept on falling and even missed a few shift but played solid.
Kinkaid played solid too, he made his sick save right at the end of the game, it would have tied the game also. Great time

Thanks for the report.

Sounds like Gelinas' 3rd star was well deserved.

Hopefully Corrente can stay healthy for the rest of the season.

I've seen very little of Gelinas this year, so I'm glad to hear about him playing well.

It's crazy how much he and Pronger are alike. Not going to be as good but hey, he'll fill the spot as a middle pairing man

It's the skating stride, both are big bowlegged skaters. Pronger was pretty mobile in his early days as well.

I keep hearing this comparison, and I must say I like it. Some neutral fans also said this of him during the Memorial Cup last season. I hope he develops into a solid defenceman at the NHL level, I'd really love to see this project pay off.

Zharkov looked really frustrated to me too, about a week ago. I was hoping it was just a one-time thing, but apparently not.

I missed tonight's game.

Albany beat Syracuse 4-1.

Pielmeier beat his former team.

Zharkov scored shorthanded.

Tedenby scored his first goal of the season.

SOG 38-35 Syracuse.

Three Stars:
1. ALB - V. Zharkov
2. ALB - T. Pielmeier

Albany plays again tomorrow afternoon.

Could be just giving him a game off.

Tedenby and Zharkov goals? That can't hurt.

Gelinas seems to be coming along nicely. First 29 games he had 3 goals, 2 assists and was -9. Last 17 games he has 5 goals, 7 assists +10.

It must be highly frustrating to watch a roster with Boulton and Janssen on it and still not be able to make the team; even though you are clearly more useful.

I was going to say I wouldn't mind him going back to Russia, working on his game, then coming back rejuvenated, but then I thought of Vas, , and didn't want him to go...

That is pretty good progress. Hopefully he'll continue to build on it.

Did Tedenby actually score with a shot or was it a deflection off his face this time?

Great night for Pielmeier, maybe he will be the one of our 5 goalies to surprise us one day.

And it's great that Tedenby finally scored last night, hopefully he can start tearing up the AHL. What kind of minutes is he getting up in Albany?

The +/- improvement for Gelinas is remarkable, definitely a sign that he is starting to figure things out as a pro.

He really needed pro coaching, the skill set has always been there. The rapid development in his game is an excellent sign that he can absorb some of the things Albelin is teaching.

I'm curious to see how far management thinks Gelinas is from challenging for an NHL spot.
