Regier says no shake-up imminent for struggling Sabres

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Sabres have been stagnant since early November, seemingly begging for some kind of change. Don't expect one soon.
In an exclusive interview with The News following tonight's 4-2 loss in Carolina, General Manager Darcy Regier said the struggling team isn't in need of a shake-up.
"I wouldn’t call it a shake-up," Regier said in RBC Center. "If there’s a move that makes sense for us, we’ll do it if something is going to improve our hockey club. There’s nothing imminent, as I said, right now.
Right, I'm sure it makes sense to wreck any negotiating leverage you could possibly have by telling people you're going to make a move for ***** and giggles.
Jesus Christ, guys. Do you SERIOUSLY think ANY GM in the NHL would come out and say "hey, we're trying to trade a couple guys, make us offers."
I know we're all getting the pitchforks out, but dear god, chill out a little.
Nothing says pulling out all stops to win the cup like the GM saying "Were in 11th but we are still close enough to get into the playoffs." How many teams squeeze into the playoffs and win the cup? O, some rarely get there but never win.
It should be obvious to everyone that this team can't score, simple as that. I like many Sabres fans have an attachment to Lindy and Darcy because hell, they have been the GM and coach for half my life. That said these comments are terribly disturbing and even with his recent exceptional drafting, it may be time for Darcy to go. Maybe Lindy too.

For me I'm not looking for him to come out and say they're making moves. Seems like he has no ****ing clue though. Who knows? Could just be PR talk, all ********. I'm sick of PR talk and not knowing what is true.
With all the buzz surrounding Anaheim....I want to believe that he has at least contacted the Ducks and inquired about certain players. Timing is crucial in making trades...If you wait too long....you end up going to the prom alone
If he can't say anything useful, then he should just say "no comment" or "we don't talk about upcoming or hypothetical trades, sorry." This spewing of ******** is only making him look like an ******* to fans.
Honestly, if I'm Pegula and I hear my GM saying that we're "close enough", and just need more finish, I'd be ****ing livid. What an *******.

It's PR talk.
When Darcy had financial constraints, he was spinning it because he couldn't make trades that took in salary.
Now he's spent us to the highest payroll in the NHL. If we're still getting the spin, there must be a reason. Clearly he's not afraid to spend when given the opportunity.
