No Nickey is tough to read. Here is hoping he plays in LA and him being held out is merely a precaution and not a sign he has lingering affects from that hit.

Based on reports, sounds like it is more precaution....

I think he's okay, they're just giving him a game off as a precaution.
He'll come out in LA on fire, since he's only missed a handful of games in his career. I predict a 3 pt night for him against the Kings.

Tonight, 3-2 caps in a shootout.
OV and semin, Wides gets 2 assists.
Semin and Laich net them in the SO.

Coming in peace to let you know our lines tonight, in case you were at all curious:

Pavelski-Thornton-Ferriero
Clowe-Couture-Marleau
McGinn-Handzus-Mitchell
Winchester-Desjardins-Wingels

Vlasic-Boyle
Demers-Burns
Murray-Braun

Niemi
Greiss

Can't make any promises considering McLellan's strategy is to Rubik's Cube it up, but that's the probable.

Looking forward to a great game!

road game
elite opponent

based on previous games i dont like our chances here, but a win would be a nice confidence boost.

Has Nick conclusively passed a concussion test? No matter what his health is today, I think its wise to sit him. This is not a Doug Jarvis iron man thing. Its a new era where there is pressure to do the right thing. When in doubt, he sits out.

Nice pic Tex! TheChive middle of no where counters..

Really, I targeted 2 points on this road trip as a lofty goal for the Capitals.

With the way we have played this year on the road, i have low expectations as well

Locker said it and I think its true, you have to win your games at home. When you have the faceoff advantage and last line change, you use them and play to win. I like Dale to use those to his full advantage.

But if the team pots a few PP goals, we are dangerous anytime. If our PP gets going, that would be huge. With that in mind I will go ahead and call an Orlov PPG tonight.

I think that's been said by someone in each of the last 10 GDT's

i think i am good for half of those predictions... when it happens... nailed it!

Truth be told, his shot may be one of the only things that hasn't impressed me thus far. Its more his O & D awareness, strength on the puck, hand eye coord, vision, physical play - all relative to his age - that have impressed me most. It seems young kids on the PP are gun shy being out there with Ovi. Hopefully Dale draws up a play for him tonight to get the goose egg erased so we can stop calling it.

A win tonight on the road with no Backstrom could make this team surge.
