You haven't been here long, have you. Vancouver fans are a breed unto their own.
Use the quoted part of the post above me if you need me to take your hand and walk you through it.
You mean the single guy who appears to be trolling saying "eat it"? So you claim Vancouver fans are a separate breed of people from you? Do you think maybe that's a bit ignorant? Do you think maybe that's the mentality that has been encouraged to justify prejudice and racism throughout human history?
Several people do not represent a group of people, unless they comprise the group of people.

You think Luongo's Hart, Vezina, Pearson nomination, and appearance in the SCF would be enough to keep the Luongo fans content. Nope. So, what is the next best thing that most Luongo fans do? Try and tear down another elite goaltender (typically Lundqvist or Rinne) to bolster Luongo.
Honestly, there is no need for it. And that is all posters like Pauser/Y2KCanucks do.
We get it, Luongo is undersold. We all know he is a good goaltender. You don't have to sell us on it. His status as an elite goaltender is certainly in question for some. But for everyone else, we don't need the constant validation.
Personally, I can't stand Luongo, and as much as I ridicule him, I can certainly recognize his talent and career thus far. He does deserve some respect for his accomplishments. But lets not try and tear down Lundqvist because of it.
Who are these "Luongo fans" you mention three times? Because I consider myself quite a fan of Luongo, so wouldn't that make me a "Luongo fan"? But I don't try to tear down Lundqvist or Rinne. And I don't believe that I have an inferiority complex either. But then, your claims about the "Luongo fans" cannot be true!
You have 26 posts. Clearly you are not yet familiar with the "Luongo Fans" that I am talking about. I'll let this post slide. Believe me, some of the other posters know what I am talking about, even if you don't understand it now.
Clearly we don't mean every Vancouver fan.... after you been around here awhile you'd understand. Or, more precisely, if you were around here last year at seasons end and into the playoffs when Vancouver only had to wait a couple of months before picking up their Cup that they so rightfully owned.
there are more critics and pressure in canada than in the US. thats why. put lundqvist in any canadian team and you will see him get criticized all the time.

OK... but even if there are some fans of Luongo who try to tear down other goalies... how is that any different from what you're doing?

New York is a big market team, probably bigger than Vancouver's.
I think Lundqvist took them as far as he could. I watched a lot of Rangers games (I don't know why), and speaking objectively I did not see a whole lot of difference between NY (#1) and Ottawa (#8)/Washington (#7) . I thought both of those series could have gone either way (especially the WSH/NY series); Lundqvist was terrific in both series; he seemed to take a step back in last two games against NJ, however.
Sadly when a team has won nothing in their entire history, they cling onto morale victories.
Vancouver fans are the most arrogant posters on hf.
This post is so evident of what is wrong with so many of the posters on this board. Attacking fanbases does nothing to add to the discussion and only invites others to now trash the fanbase of the original poster.

Vancouver finished first in goals against that year with that defense. In fact, Schneider had better stats playing behind that defense.
they finished in first for goals against because the goalies were playing so well. new york does a much better job of reducing chances and keeping shots to the outside

If you actually watched a majority of the games (post January), you would know that it was all Luongo/Schneider; Vancouver's defense pairings were thrown into a blender every game. They weren't good enough. Just like the rest of Vancouver's stats this year (PP, etc.), it is misleading (surely a first round exit to LA is indicative of that).

they are a big market team but there are more media coverage in canada. ny has the knicks, mlb teams, nfl teams while in vancouver only has one team to cover.
Bump again. 30 years old and has never led his team further than the ECF.
Now I'm not blaming the entire season on him, because he was sensational for most of the year, but he just didn't come up big when his team needed him the most. Blew 3 straight games.
For the so called "best" goaltender in the world, I would like to see him ride out a championship first, especially with the defense he had in front of him.

Well, there's the Lions too (football) but yeah I agree, in Canada no other sport is even on the map, whereas with most states in the US, hockey is not even close to the biggest sports. I believe in most States (correct me if I'm wrong here), college football draws vastly larger veiwership than pro hockey. In Canada that would be insane, no one cares about UBC's or McGill's football team lol
more like 23 in 7 games, but he also stole them 3 games and was the number 1 star in those, and was considered for the conn smythe had he won the final game. that 8 goal game would usually never happen because a goalie is usually pulled before it gets that much out of hand. what about lundqvists 11 goals in the last 3 games?
and what did lundqvist let in in the finals series? oh forgot, he's never been there. you cant even trash talk when he **** the bed in the ECF with a defense that looks like the soccer players wall. we've been hearing it forever about this guy and what he can do, and he's still falling short. but he has a nice haircut and we should ****in love him because he wears stylish clothes and looks like a nice guy.
