There was also the '06 one where they scored with 2 seconds to go after the Devils took the lead with 20 seconds to go. Madden won the draw so clean it put the puck deep in the Devils zone for the Canes.

That time he won the face-off and went in our empty net.

Madden looked good the other night, but did anyone catch it where he was not far from the Devils net, and could have taken a puck right there? He looked real slow then. Could be age, could be rust from not playing for 9 months. Who knows.

I was sitting 8 rows right behind that net. I put that chance in. I love Madden but thank god he missed that

I love Madden too, and wish him well, but I hate when our old players do good things at our expense!

I can't believe I wanted J-Bouw anywhere near this team a few summers ago.
I like it even more when we crucify Lou for not going after them on here.

Don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but anyone else notice Zach outworking Paul Martin on the Kovy goal? Loved it.

Stinks? He'd easily be the best D man by leaps and bounds on this team and is still a very, very good D man all around. 5 mil is a bit steep, but seeing what other D men of his ilk get, it's not too far off. I'd rather Martin at his salary than Volch at his. I do understand that Martin was never coming back, though.

I think Tallinder was Martin's replacement. In which case I'd take Martin at 5 over what Talendar makes now. Water under the bridge or something of the sort. D prospects are decent and hopefully Lou can get a #1 guy sooner than later to help the process and make this all moot.

If Martin was the player that some people claim he is, then you would have seen more people *****ing at the NJD for having his injury take so long to heal and keeping him off of Team USA.

Saying he would be the best defenseman on this team is not saying much.

Didn't he sign in Pittsburgh like minutes after free agency opened?

Anyways, I'm glad we don't have his contract on the books, that was steep for him.

I realize that. That is why I said he is still very good in general. He's a top pairing guy, or a stellar number 3. He earns close to what he should for what he is, and pretty much any team in the league would welcome him with open arms.

Yes and he had no interest in staying on in NJ. He wanted to leave and had his mind set on Pittsburgh for some time.
