I think we would have heard something if they thought it was concerning.
Sounds like Pitkanen is getting close to returning.

So is Spacek the healthy scratch if Pits DOES return (once he gets healthy of course).
I can't picture the team sitting any of the other Dmen...

I would have to think so. Muller says he may even be ready Wednesday.

Anyone think that JR might address that winger to play with Staal by offersheeting someone? Maybe someone like Oshie, Downie, etc.

We kick the tires on the offer sheet idea every year, but the fact of the matter is that offer sheets are rare, regardless of the talent or contract level of the player in question.
So no, I don't think the winger issue will be addressed through an offer sheet. It will be through free agency or a trade (although, let's be honest, JR will end up signing Stewart 2.0 and talk him up enough to brainwash the idiot Facebook crowd into thinking that he's the next great top 6 player. He's played this game too many times to not expect it at this point.)

Pitkanen has been activated from IR and will play tonight
Sounds like he'll also slide right into the top PP unit as well.

Pitkanen-McBain
Harrison-Faulk
We've certainly got the pointmen to have an above average powerplay...

EDIT: Wait a minute, you've got Suter at $3.5 mil? That's nowhere close. Double it, you'd be closer.
Parise will probably make more than $6 mil as well, so signing both doesn't quite fit in the budget. I wish though...

In order to get either to sign here, we'd need to take what they'd reasonable expect to sign for, then add 2 million.

The good news is there's $9.5 million in that model. That's enough for Parise.

If we want to add Parise and Suter, Karmanos will need to fork out an extra $15 million or so.
Ergo, "we are happy with our team."

not really.
They will be way under the cap going into the off season and they like being 4 or 5 mil over to start. Parise I think is doable but not both. I dont think Parise comes here anyway.

Regarding Parise, he was very close with Maclean and was not happy when the devils let him go. Having Maclean on our staff now, might give us a bit of leverage.
Nice to think that JR is tempting to go after Suter as well, but I just dont see that one coming here.
