Tuomo Ruutu

What can Carolina get from him in the deadline?

The rangers can offer Zucca + 2nd, but will carolina get more?

i see him not to be a rental actually, i want that rangers get him and resign if he do well

I would like to think we could get more than Zuccarello and a 2nd.

I think you will be disappointed

Ruutu's value is a ok prospect + 2nd honestly

Ruutu isn't exactly having a steller year and being a UFA after year will diminish his return as well

Actually he is on pace for the most points of his career. Lots of teams will want a top 6 physical forward at the deadline and will overpay.

I could see him yielding a 1st round pick from a desperate team.

Ah, not really, 44 Point pace and a UFA to be is not going to bring you a whole lot in return, a playoff contender will probably somewhat overpay to get him. But that Overpay would probably only be a Mid Level prospect + 2nd(somebody already mentioned this, value is very close).

As an Avs fan I would be willing to part with Gaunce + a 2nd, or Chouinard + 2nd, but not a whole lot more for a UFA to be whi's not having a great year.

I wonder if Carolina would be interested in a Gleason + Ruutu Jones + Quincey swap. Avs could probably even add a 3rd to the deal.

I'd love to have him on SJ. I'd certainly do an OK prospect and a 2nd at the deadline (or sooner).

I agree, that he is probably worth a little bit less than 2nd plus mid prospect. But,
I could see a team that is for sure prepared to make a deep playoff run picking him up for a bit more just because they can give up more.

I know examples are always so iffy, but take Arnott for example. Last year he went for a roster player and a second rounder, despite only having 20 some points at the deadline. Teams will always overpay, and our GM will wait until he has the best possible offer and pull the trigger.

Yea, theres definitly a chance a team like the Nucks or the Bruins would overpay and maybe even trade there first two get him, but I think his actualy value right now would be a 2nd Rounder and a Decent prospect.

I really hope the Avs go for one of Gleason/Ruutu, big fan of both guys and IMO there both players the Avs need in there system moving forward, GLeason not as much as Ruutu, but the Avs could still use a Solid Top pairing Dman to play with EJ.

Rangers please.

Zuccarello + 2nd

If we need to add an extra lesser prospect, so be it.

He would fit perfectly in NY.

I just can't see a deal working around Zuccarello. Or Wolski, since I'm sure that'll be the next player offered. And the 2nd is essentially a third with the way the Rangers are playing.

Carolina should be able to get more.

ur right the standard Ranger fan offer is a 2nd and Zuccarello( AHL all star)........Wolski will be thrown in there just based on cap hit

If the Rangers have to add a 5th for example I wont complain but I cant see anyteam offering more than the standard 2nd rounder ,late rounder, descent prospect but not top

In the last thread made for Ruutu I offered Jones + 2nd and that seemed to go over well as Jones will be cheaper than Ruutu to resign while replacing some of his production.

Ruutu does a lot more than put up points. He is an older version of Galiardi.. Utility power forward that can play any of the forward positions and put up points. 3rd line center/ Right wing for us. He would get a chance to play with Stastny and Galiardi.. Then eventually with Duchene and Stastny. I would love Galiardi x 2 on our team.

(Edit: Oh and trust me with those guys his assists would go up and he is on pace for almost 30 with 14 n 42. Could easily see him putting up 30/25 with the right players.)

Ruutu's value is fairly high IMO. From an Avs fan I wouldn't mind giving up Jones + Hunwick + 4th for Ruutu.

Jones and a 2nd may sound better from a Canes standpoint, but the Avs can't afford to give up a 2nd.

I think some of you have the value wrong.

Last I checked, Ruutu doesn't PK. You wont get a roster player back if that's the case.

Like many already said, you'll get a 2nd and that's probably it unless you want to take back a project prospect or dump a contract you don't want anymore.

More likely than not, he probably will be traded to SJ. With Havlat's return being a question mark and the friendliness between both organizations on the trade front, its almost a sure thing as the Ian White trade that went on last year.

What kind of return is Carolina looking for? What are your needs? The Ducks are interested for sure.

We are not really sellers either and would love to have Ruutu in our top 6. He could be very good with Getzlaf and Perry and then we build our 2nd line around Ryan and hopefully next draft's high forward pick. Or Ruutu could be used to build our 2nd line.

Unless he signs an extension he's available for free in the summer - Ducks should be nowhere near acquiring him before that. And honestly i'd believe he's most likely to go to contender/money/or home discount to carolina (ala jussi ja joni) after and those are not really in Ducks' deck of cards atm.
