Hagelin has broke through this year and might deserve consideration. Carl Gunnarsson is doing well for the Maple Leafs. Then there's Omark the enigma.

Weak draft from a Swedish viewpoint.

The Caps would still take Alzner.

Should be a honourable mention

I think Simmonds is a better player, Blum and Eller have more potential

Galiardi was a beast in the playoffs though

I certainly agree Simmonds is better. I dunno about Blum/Eller having more potential.

If I were to make a top 30 I'd put Galiardi somewhere between 15-25.

His numbers don't speak for themselves. His play does.

I wouldn't say it's a bad draft at all. Maybe not much elite talent but some really good players all the same. 4-5 guys with PPG potential. Shattenkirk can be a 50-60 point defenseman.

Just no, Shattenkirk will never reach 50 points...I'm sorry.

He had 43 points in his rookie season. On pace for 42 points this season. Pretty premature to say he'll never reach 50.

He's on pace for a 40 point season at the age of twenty two.

It is certainly a plausible prediction based on his production to this point in his career.

Wow you must have never seen him play. He had 43 points as a rookie in 62 games last season. I know ppg pace is not always accurate but that was a pace for 56 points last season. The Blues forwards have been struggling to finish goals this season that is why his points are currently down. Also if you take his point per game it's .6237. That puts him at 51 points average over 82 games

HFBoards is hard to follow. Sometimes it's "If a player scores x amount of points in his rookie season, he will peak at x times 1.5 (or in some cases, 2)" and sometimes it's "if a player scores x amount of points in his rookie season, he will never score more". Of course, that's how it works in real life. Some rookie scores 60 and never tops it, some score 60 and peak at 100+. But the certainty that some posters have about their predictions is really impressive. I'm not even that sure of myself when I'm posting facts, let alone when predicting the future.

I think a 10 point increase over his rookie season is a fairly reasonable prediction, especially over a full season.
