What's with the hatred of biron starting?

I mean really, it's like some people expect him to play as well as lundqvist.

Despite him giving up crappy goals he's still 7-2-0 for the season, with a 2.08 GAA! Tonight he gave up 2 goals, that's HARDLY a bad outing, yet people are ripping him to pieces because he let in a bad goal. I think you have something wrong with you if you're complaining about biron getting a start in a B2B.

It's not like we have Valiquette getting starts, when you can just give up on the game before it starts.

At this point, the rangers are pretty much a lock for the playoffs, which means they will not want to overplay lundqvist. 2 years ago new jersey won the division... and had brodeur play almost every game, look how far that got them.

Wait, people on here hate Biron?

We have the best back-up goalie in the league who is an amazing teammate. And people hate him? Who the hell could hate him?

Biron definitely isn't that good but if people expect him to play like Hank then it's all downhill. That said, the majority of people on here at least seem to see clearly that the team plays hard for the backup every night and he makes enough saves for us to win the game.

Frankly anyone who says he gave up a bad goal tonight is automatically disregarded by me because those were two perfect shots which only the world's best goalies expect to stop.

Ditto, best backup in the league. Love Marty. I just want Hank to get his 30+ wins and eventually a Vezina please.

I don't think that people hate on Biron. I just think people would like to see Lundqvist play virtually every night. Biron is a fantastic backup. I also think that people just want to see Hank keep stretching that streak of consecutive 30 win seasons and are upset Biron has taken a few W's away from him.

He's EASILY the best backup in the league, and could be a starter on most teams in the NHL.

I would love to know who hates him, and why, because it's ridiculous to hate a guy like Biron who is nothing but a class act.

Whose hating on biron starting? I think the vast majority has accepted hank needs his rest for a good playoff run and most people have alot of confidence in him.. Dont see a problem here

Are people not aware of Rask and Schneider? Both are two of the best young goalies in the game and they're both backups.

Biron is an above average starting goalie and is an excellent backup. He is certainly not as good as his numbers make him out to be this season, I expect him to have a few stinkers. But I have no troubles of him playing 30 games this year so Henrik can get the rest to grind it out in 7 game playoff series.

a bunch of people *****ed about him getting the start in the GDT tonight..

And when he lost the caps game people *****ed about him to no end, as if he's supposed to win every game or something.

We're not used to seeing Hank sit so many games. I think that's it for me. I see Biron, and my first thought is "Is Hank that tired?"

No way biron should be starting 4 out of 9 games that's a rotation not a number one and a back up. That's just crazy and that's what just happened.

I like him but let's not go to the well to many times here

I see it more as a luxury that in recent years we haven't had the fortune of doing.
The defence has not had the 'gel' recently the D consistently brings now, combined with a poor offensive game which meant that the team relied heavily on Lundqvist to keep them in the game.

Now that all cylinders are firing across the board, it's important to look ahead to playoffs and keep The King as fresh as possible which isn't the end of the world as it would have been in previous years.

Rask and Schneider ring a bell?

Easily better than Biron, but he's up there. Love him, great backup and better than what we've had in the past.

I see no hate what so ever.

Biron is like a godsend to this team and organization.

Wasn't too long ago we had the likes of Kirk McLean, Guy Hebert, Jason Muzzatti, etc as backups. Heck even throw in Valiquette in more recent times

Biron could be a starter on probably 5-8 teams in the NHL right now. He's one of the best backups in the league, behind probably only Rask and Schneider.

He's a FANTASTIC teammate and has a great relationship with Hank and Benny.

He'll be here for a few more years at least. He's comfortable at this stage in his career being a backup, he has a family and kids in school, etc. He'll re-sign in the offseason for sure.

I don't hate on Biron, thrilled to have him as a backup. He could start for lots of teams. I just would like to see our best player in there every game, which I know won't happen and they are trying to limit him to about 65 regular season games.

Tuuka is the best backup in the league.

Who is hating on Marty? I said something there were weak goals tonight, but that was on both teams.

I have seen no hating on Biron. The guy has been more than solid for us this season and last. I am very happy to have him taking some of the load off Lundqvist so come playoff time Hank will be fresh and ready to go
