Vancouver plays an effective brand of hockey. However, the dirtyness isn't really a factor in that. Unless you're trying to tell me biting and poking opposing players in the neck with your stick is central to that.

I'm not going to keep arguing this with people. Replace the word "good" with "effective" if it makes you feel better.

As far as the Chara incident, I don't think that was intentional, so I think citing it is irrelevant.

I do think the way you described the Canucks is accurate though. The Bruins have only "gone too far" once imo. Unless there's something other than the Chara (non) incident or the Marchand hit today that I'm missing?
Well, there was the Chara hit which was extremely dirty. Marchand today. Boychuk on Raymond. Lucic on Miller. Lucic checking from behind. Savard biting. etc...

and if you do then I submit to you that Chara intentionally drove pacioretty into the stanchion and Boychuk intentionally drove raymond into the boards.

How in the hell is Vancouver a dirty team?

I'm honestly curious how people can justify voting them. Especially after how Boston was exposed today.

They don't like Vancouver because the team has a few agitators that have been known to get under opposing players' and fans' skin. What's ironic is that Vancouver has one of the classiest collection of players in the entire NHL and, yet, fans from around the league seem to think that the entire team is composed of Burrows and Lappierre-types. The Sedins are probably the quietest, most humble human beings in the league and hand away millions of dollars to charity. Guys like Hamhuis, Edler, Salo, Hodgson, Higgins, Hansen, Raymond, Booth, Malhotra and company are so quiet and humble that you might even consider them boring or vanilla. Yet, somehow, Burrows and Lapierre, two players most every team in the NHL has on their roster, have created this illusion that Vancouver is a dirty team. The funny thing is, Burrows has never even been suspended in his NHL career and Lapierre has somewhat cleaned up his act, since being traded to Vancouver.

To be quiet honest, it's idiotic.

A few years ago I would've taken Philly, but it's easily Boston this year. Their players(a good number of them) either lack discipline or have no respect for the health and safety of other players.

Boston has a few guys that play good tough hockey but most of them are pretenders who think playing tough is hitting a guy with your stick or pushing after the whistle. Kind of like how Milbury used to play.

People are voting for Vancouver solely because of one player: Alex Burrows.

I don't know how a single guy constitutes an entire team all of a sudden, but there you go.

First we need to define dirty. If your talking cheap shots Aka Matt cook, and Marchand today, i dont see the Bruins being one of them.Lets be honest besides the clip today what other dirty play has any the Bruins done this year. That being said they will if they believe it needs to be done defend a teamate they will, and they will beat them down.

Lets take a look at what some you are calling a Dirty play
Marchand clip dirty, no defending it
Lucic on miller not dirty if it wasnt a goalie that happened to be a good 20 feet from his net this isnt even a topic
Chara on Pac, not dirty happens on the other side of the ice nothing happens just a unfortunate outcome

So if not for the things that made these dirty hits they would be clean!??!?

Bruins are the cleanest team in history then.

Shh, the Bruins faithful don't want you to remind everyone.

Besides, poor Savard is a victim, how could he commit such a shameful act ala Alex Burrows?

Why bite when you can break a back without even a penalty?
