I see Sundin and Kessel hitting 90 points year in year out if they played together.

I just hope we get Kessel a Sundin unlike how we couldn't get Sundin a Kessel.

Kessel would have to score below 68 point pace in the second half in order to dip below PPG production. Barring injuries to Loops or Phil, I don't see this happening. If the lineups remain more or less unchanged through TDL, I can see him finishing between 85 and 90 points (even split between goals and assists). If, however, Burke manages to work some magic and acquire him a center I could see him challenge for the 100 point mark with Lupul right on his tail.

What I find hilarious, the guy who was supposedly one of the streakiest players in the league is now the MOST consistent player in the league. Points in 33 out of 41 games, the guy has been an absolute model of consistency.

There goes the BIGGEST knock against Kessel.

I was just saying that same thing the other day. Hasn't he only gone on a 1 game pointless "streak" so far this season? Sure he's had a few 1 game pointless "streaks" but 48 points in 41 games is good for second in the league.

Ohhh why did tsn.ca mess up Kessel's hot streak? It used to say Kessel is hot 31points in the last 31 games. Oh well they also have Kessel as a centre (if you go to statistics and look at his position).

IKESSEL!!

I think I see him going about 43 goals, 39 assists, for a total of 82 points.

I would love Kessel to get picked last at the All-Star game again! "God mode engaged"

He can keep it up provided Lupul stays healthy; I think they feed off of each other really well. The most encouraging thing is that they are both finding ways to contribute on nights when things aren't going their way and the puck isn't going in.

That stat of 33 games of out 41 played this season where they've each recorded at least a point, is bloody remarkable.

If said magic does occur the sky's the limit. they're playing with 2nd and 3rd line centres and still challenging for the scoring lead. Imagine these two with a Getzlaf?

Yeah I was thinking about all the fake knocks yesterday and how it would be nice to see him write them all off in one season.

He's certainly beaten the "can't perform without a Savard type set up man" knock.

Barring injury he'll beat the "he's not a 40 goal man" knock.

To date he's the most consistent point producer in the league.

I'd say anyone who actually watches would say he's beaten the "defensive sieve" knock.

I'd also say he's doing well on the "lazy" knock.

The "locker room cancer" knock was idiotic to begin with (it's always employed by fans who are ******** that their date stood them up...see Phaneuf and Grabovski).

While haters keep shifting the posts, they are rapidly running out of real estate. Here's hoping he remains healthy the rest of the year. Man, what I would do to see him win the Richard and Art Ross! That would be priceless!

P.S. Your next knock will be "Oh he might just be a fluke, he has to do it for at least 5 seasons to be legit."

love reading the threads in the main boards where all the pathetic leafs trolls come out from under their bridges. it's amazing watching them try their hardest to not give any credit whatsoever to a player because of the colour of jersey he wears.

sens fans passing off 97 games of consistent scoring as a "hot streak". bruins fans coming in and saying he's not liked by teammates. all while sitting top 3 in points and 2nd in scoring. all the haters can suck it long and hard.

Kessel is a superstar and one of the most dangerous players in the world. What is scary is that he has not reached his peak yet. Amazing player, just amazing.

The emergence of Lupul has made the first line a Siamese twins of goal scoring and I am enjoying the hell out of it.

Kessel's shooting reminds me of Mogilny. That said, Alex was at the end of his career when he came here and played a lot of it on a different line.

Interesting point by the announcers last night that got me to wondering: how many instances can you think of where a team has had a dynamic duo that doesn't consist of a centre? Two wingers doing it all is weird. Anyone think of comparables?

At this point, if Kessel only gets 38 goals, that would be a disappointment (unless it's due to injuries). 14 goals in next 41 games? That's a pace of 28 goals.

I expect him to push 90 points. Had to minus a few points out for those 2 remaining games against those damn Bruins.
