Don't know why, this gif reminds me of Stoll though. I hope he isn't

Well it's about time they put Brown back at LW. He always ends up on that side anyway, Lets just stop with the foreplay and make him a LW.

Brown plays a north/south game on the left side(better for him), his also drives the net on the side. Also he is not on his backhand when on the left side.

Jut leave him at LW.

I like the new lines. I know Brown himself is not a huge fan of the left side, but I agree with those saying he is better suited there. With his speed, wanting to always shoot(better shooting angle when coming down your off-side), and his between the legs move he always pulls out, it just makes more sense. I loved playing the left side and right-handed shot personally, I think he'll get used to it.

Glad they kept the Richie-Loki-Lewis line together. Starting to get pressure and chemistry, results are right behind. Kings should be searching for faceoff/PK specialist for the 4th line, IMO. Have Clifford/Hunter/Westgarth/Fraser rotate on the wings, but get a better center in there. A Jim Slater/Manny Malhotra/little bit younger John Madden(dare I say Michal Handzus) type. Would really help that fourth line, IMO.

Actually, Brown likes it on the left side.

He seems to prefer the right, but is now more comfortable with and accepting of the left. At least, that's how I picture it based on his interviews, who knows what he is actually thinking. To him, it is give and take, more offensively potent on the left, but more defensively capable on the right. He can handle it though, it is nice to know he has that kind of flexibility. I've always liked him with Kopitar, despite criticisms, and I hope it stays that way.

I thought he came out and said that he actually preferred the LW.

I'd have to dig through for the quotes, but in his interviews from previous years, he has said that he prefers the right and that it was his natural position, leading up to that controversial statement where, after the final game of the season he made mention of Lombardi needing to get a left winger for the team, and the subsequent backlash from Lombardi about Brown and company needing to step up their own games and worry about their own play more.

This year has been a slight about face, before he has dutifully replied that he will play wherever the coach wants him, but this year he has expressed more comfort with the left side and a greater willingness to move to accommodate the line shifts. His interview this year, he said that he doesn't mind the left side, and then pointed out the pros and cons (better offensively left, better defensively right), though I still think he prefers the right side (don't recall him ever publicly changing his mind), he has appeared favorable to the idea of playing left for an indefinite period of time.

I'll still look for the quotes, but that is my take on it from memory.

Edit - Found his quotes about his shift left this year, still looking for his original quotes previously about preferring right - http://lakingsinsider.com/2011/11/27...-move-to-left/

Quote:
“It’s a double-edged sword. It’s much more difficult making plays coming out of your own end. But making plays, just crossing the blue line on the offensive side, you can cut, you can do the slant pass onto the guy’s stick, and it’s a lot easier to drive wide. Last night, I had a couple chances where I got a step on a guy — they made good plays and I didn’t get to the net — but on the right side it’s much more difficult to get around the guy wide. When I’m on my backhand, I can protect the puck a lot better. There’s a lot more options on the offensive side of the puck. I just have to take more reps in practice.

“If you look, even this year, my best chances are when I get the puck coming off my left side. Like I said, it’s more difficult making plays out of my zone, but that’s just a matter of getting reps and working on it. It’s just like anything else. Pulling pucks off the walls as a right winger, I’m used to it because I’ve been doing it for an extended period of time. It’s just a matter of adjusting.’’
Another from this year, that you might be alluding to: http://frozenroyalty.net/2011/12/03/...nother-chance/

Quote:
“I prefer the left side, offensively,” Brown said. “I’ll play left or right. I felt really good on the left side. But with [veteran left wing Dustin] Penner coming into the lineup, I go back to the right [side]. We’ll see what we can do.”
Found it, though it is a combination of Murray and his own preference: http://www.zimbio.com/Dustin+Brown/a...l+Dustin+Brown

Quote:
BROWN: ``From a personnel standpoint right now, what sticks out in my mind is left wing. I’m playing left wing, and I have no problem playing left wing, but I think Terry prefers me on right wing. I’ve played the last 15 games or so on the left, and it has definitely taken some time to get adjusted to. We also had Zeus (Michal Handzus) playing left wing, and he’s a natural center. He’s been one of our better centers this year and he’s great on faceoffs. He was playing left wing for five or six games. We got rid of Cammy (Michael Cammalleri) last year, and with Sully (Patrick O’Sullivan) getting dealt at the deadline this year, it feels like, from a personnel standpoint or a positional standpoint, it’s left wing.’’

BROWN: ``No, not at all. But when you look at our lineup, Fro (Alexander Frolov) plays left wing, but I would prefer the right side and I think Zeus would prefer to play center obviously. We were putting one of our best faceoff men on the wing, so that obviously shows a need.’’
So yeah... It is confusing, and as I said, who knows what he really thinks... In the past, he has said directly that he prefers the right side, but this season he said that he has worked at adjusting to the left side and he now prefers it offensively, and will continue to work on improving defensively at it. So take what you will from that...

He actually said, he prefers the left side. I knew I read it somewhere.

Ah, see I was still thinking in year's past where he said he was more comfortable on the right side. I see he has changed his tune somewhat. I was wrong. But that's alright, glad he sees the advantage of the left side offensively, it was always my favourite spot (LW) as a right handed shot. Like he said it is way easier to protect the puck (something Brown DESPERATELY needs) and easier to get shots off. And thanks for the find quotes Telos.

Can the Kings get a Brown that doesn't fall down all the time? Don't care where he plays, just stay on your skates and use your teammates.

thank goodness.

like others the MR - Kopi experiment was a mess. goes to show how similar they think out there, that they kept running into one another.

the one change i would make is Penner with Kopi. the only time Pancakeboy has looked decent has been with Kopi and JW. the only time there has been any resemblance of chemistry with his linemates.

like DB back on the LW is a good thing. away from Kopi would be even better imo. Kopi and JW will be fine, to the point they could carry Penner's fat ass. MR having to play with both Penner and Stoll, means we likely won't get much out of that #2 line. Penner will drift around aimlessly like a 19-year old college sophmore living in a frat house. Stoll will draw a dumb penalty and miss the net all night.

the #3 and #4, obviously BFF is seeing what he likes down there. The #3 is playing with speed and pride. they may not be producing on the scoreboard, but they have been the best line the past few games. The #4 is doing what they are supposed to - energy, taking the body and being a pest.

Yeah I saw that.

Penner injured while eating a stack of pancakes.

So I decree....Doughty s concussion must have came from slamming his face into some double-doubles.
