Some people speculating Lander will come back up to the Oilers and was only assigned so he could play in the OKC playoff run.
What about Danis? Is there any threat to his playoff/clear day eligibility because he's currently on an NHL roster? Does the fact he's an injury call up factor in?
I might be wron but I don't think that will matter because he's played pretty much the whole season in OKC
What I understood from it is regardless of games down here they must be sent down by trade deadline to be elgible. There is an article under the Lander thread that I read it, I think.
I see the line up maybe
Cornet-Green-Keller
Paajarvi-Lander-Omark
Hartikainen-Arcobello-Tremblay
Tyrvainen-VV-Grant
With Paajarvi and Lander down that pretty much takes off Hamilton and Pitlick off clear day I would assume.
These are both from the AHL's website. Neither mentions that the players actually have to be on the roster physically before the deadline. Just that they have to be on the list and the list is a limited number (22 players) so obviously you do not want to include players that have a slim chance of actually be down there for the playoffs.
From last years clear day roster list:
Quote:
The American Hockey League has released the Clear Day Period lists for each of its 30 member clubs.
Each Clear Day roster consists of a maximum of 22 players. According to AHL by-laws, only those players listed on a team’s Clear Day roster are eligible to compete in the remainder of the 2010-11 AHL regular season and in the 2011 Calder Cup Playoffs, unless emergency conditions arise as a result of recall, injury or suspension.
Teams may also add signed draft choices and players signed to amateur tryout contracts, provided that their respective Junior seasons are complete.
Recent article on the AHL website:
Quote:
With the NHL’s trade deadline approaching on Feb. 27 (3 p.m. ET), the AHL’s Clear Day deadline, when all 30 teams must submit their 22-man Clear Day lists, is set for Monday, Mar. 5, at 3 p.m. ET.
Only those players included on a team’s Clear Day list are eligible to compete in the remainder of the AHL regular season and in the 2012 Calder Cup Playoffs, unless emergency conditions arise as a result of recall, injury or suspension. Teams may also add signed junior players or players on amateur tryout contracts, but only once their respective junior or college seasons are complete.
So if I understand that correctly as the Oil put Paajarvi or whomever else on the list by March 5th then those players can play in the AHL playoffs.
LMAO what a "breakaway"!I hope the kid get moved today i want to see him in the NHL, unfortunately the oilers is full of young talent on the wing and with Ales signing and omarks waiver situation hes pretty smoked in the Oiler team.

All a long, I wanted to see a line of PRV - Lander - Omark in the big club.
Has anyone heard any updates on Alex Plante and if he is close to returning?
Richards said that he looked fine after the game he got knocked out in and he made it sound like he would not be out long if at all. It has been a few games though and since it was the second concussion in a 2-3 week span it could be much worse than thought.
Coach said tonight that they are still considering Plante "day to day" but went on to say that best case scenario we are looking at 3 weeks.
I've actually watched Rodney play live and in person a couple of times but I didn't pay for the tickets, not sure where that puts me in regard to being able to comment on him.
Your name is bewbies. I'll believe anything you say.
Pretty good write up on the AHL site about Cornet and his season so far. Cornet has always been one of the most upbeat guys down here on the farm, kid has a great attitude. I'm glad he has used this season to really solidify himself as a prospect going forward. Not going to lie, if you would've asked me last season I would've said that it's doubtful he would ever carve out to be an NHL player. He's changed my mind, though. Still has some flaws, but the improvements he made in just one summer has me excited to see what kind of leaps he will make in maybe 2/3 years.

Maybe send the kids to Stockton for some playoff action? I'm not familiar with how the ECHL playoff qualifications work with their really uneven conferences, but it seems like there aren't many better options

Well there will be one spot open up front, so one of Pitlick, House, and Hamilton will make the roster. I hope its Pitlick, but coach is pretty high on House so wouldn't be surprised if he takes it.
I agree, it would be great if they got in some games even if its STK, but they should be up here imo, just a stacked team.
If an injury happens we could still call them back up I think, so I wouldn't have a problem with it. Injured players are exempt from the clear day I think so Hamilton, who was injured last week, might be exempt from the rule. Be interesting to see how it pans out come Monday.
