Also, if this is his best, we're in a whole lot of trouble. Right now, he's our starter.
Clemmer isn't an above average player. It's like expecting Kopecky and Matthias to be 60 point players. He was never advertised to be above average. The unrealistic expectations lead to constant and unfair criticism.

I am not looking for him to play God as back up. I am looking for him to at least look like he can stop a puck, because most of the time he looks barely capable. Flopping all around and having no idea of where the puck is and hoping it hits him. He doesn't give me confidence, and I am watching on TV, I can only imagine what his teammates think on the bench.

He's played better than this at points in his career.

You keep saying this is perfectly acceptable for whatever reason because we'll suppose to judge him on his standards.

Even if he's an average backup, we should still be frustrated with his BELOW average play this year. A save % under 90 and a GAA over 3 isn't even average.

He was better last year.

Meanwhile, he's earned points in a huge majority of his starts.

Ok, but he's performing like a below average player.

It was both Jovo and Guds fault. What the hell was Jovo doing with that pass attempt near the faceoff circle ? Why was Guds not being more decisive with the puck ? Maybe it was bouncing.

Can't give up freebies to VAN 3rd/4th line players and hope to win.

Damn, you guys got wheels.

Good to see Samuelsson playing like his old self, he's a beauty on the PP.

He would be a decent starting G without his injury problems. He's like the Connolly or Hemsky of goalies.

What? That's an awful comparison. It's not like that at all. He's not an average backup. Again, Nitty, Biron, and a handful of others are examples of good backups.

He hasn't been as bad as people make him out to be though. His stats are average for a backup.

at this point, the way he's played lately, I would rather us put Foster out there and see if he's any better.

You sound like Skip Bayless defending Tim Tebow.

If he keeps playing to the tune of a GAA over 3 and a save % under 90, his record will become unsustainable. He's had a below average year so far.

btw im sort of ticked about tonight. There is only one other game tonight and its a late game out in LA.

Doesnt versus always have monday night hockey games? Tonight would have been a wonderful opportunity for the panthers to be televised nationally.

Instead tonight versus/nbc takes the night off. **** them.

Usually not because of him. Again, there's times he's looked very good, then he lets something by that just infuriates you.

Are they?

A GAA over 3 and save % under 90 is pretty terrible, backup or not. He's been an average backup in his career, but you can't make that case this year.

My comparison makes perfect sense. Nitty is playing where? AHL? Oh, okay. Sounds like a good backup. My bad.

Biron has been stellar this year. Not sure what they have to do with anything. Clemmer is an average backup.

Injuries? Please have a clue before you come off like a dick. And it was an awful comparison. Btw, where was Emery last season? What's he now in Chicago? Thanks!

Considering the NCAA Football National Championship is on, it wouldn't exactly draw.

Do you expect Matthias and Kopecky to score 60 points? No of course not. Do you expect Clemmer to put up a .920 and a 2.50 gaa? No, of course not. Makes perfect sense.

Also, Nitty had a .896 Save percentage and 2.71 GAA... Not too far off from Clemmer

FLA: Hai guys, would you broadcast our game nationally?

NBC: Umm, yea sure. I'll be right back.

And you're calling him an average backup right now when he's posting below average numbers.

Of course not many feel comfortable when he's in net. He's been bad.
