Will you share your pitch with us? Or better yet...are you taking me with you? Orrrrrrr, if the jersey happens to be a men's small I can swim in it.

The contest- http://oilers.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=76320

Did any other HFer's enter and/or win?

Congrats, how much do the Oilers pay to have people show up at Rexall for a game?

The prize: A Game Night Suite Experience with Kevin Smith on January 11, 2012 & a signed Oilers jersey.

Not bad...

Not sure if thread worthy, and I imagine a text message would have sufficed.

Yeah. I jelly.

Congrats!! I'm a massive Kevin Smith fan, I own everything he's ever done, but I'm so unartistic that I just decided to forgo that contest.

It's kind of embarrassing that Kevin Smith is the most famous fan that the Oilers have to offer.

I guess we had Hilary Duff for a season.

I'd much rather have Kevin Smith than Michael Buble.

I'm sure there are more famous Oilers fans, just not any who are as intense as Kevin Smith.

Thanks Rin it was a script called putting out the flames, where Calgor the evil dragon from Calgaria comes to Edmonton to steal the Gretzky statue and summon it's greatness and to blow up the arena. There are 5 oiler superheros, each gave a superpower, Hall, Eberle, Teubert, Peckam, Jones. Hall played by Taylor Lautner, eberle plays himself, jones is Andy samberg, Peckam is plYed by Mike Tyson and Teubert is played by Christien Bale. The mentors Tikkanen and Mcsorely are played by Rob Corrdry and Jeff Bridges.

Kevin Smith is the man. That should be fun. You will have to pick his brain about the two part hockey movie he is going to make as his last movies as a director/writer.

When you see Kevin Smith Mowzie, just stare at him in awe with your mouth wide open. Then when he goes to introduce himself, shake his hand and say "I just pissed myself". Remember to film it! We all want to watch it

No prob, I thought since it's an Oilers contest...and you're an HF member that it would be thread worthy

i didnt do an entry because i couldnt avoid getting into the 87 season ... which is holy grail territory. you just dont touch that year anymore, as it has been covered by the best documentary in sports history...boys on the bus (86 AND 87). To even mention or reuse anything from what that documentary covered is nothing short of insulting to the bible of oiler fandom. (but theres lots of stuff that docu left out like the tragedy at andersons and the following canada cup where bourque opened his big yap about his pay check and got the oilers mad...which led to hold outs and coff being traded. it also led to the modern era of players getting the upper hand and leverage in negotiations.)

i often see shots re-used from that video and it makes me frown is disgust that someone thinks they have the right to take the same footage as the holier than holys.

i like that mowzie went fictional but eventually someone has to do a non-fictional full docu-drama on the oil. each 10 years would be a different 2 hour segment...ok maybe 4 hours for the first decade which prologues the wha days and oil kings and eskimos (the hockey team).
