Seems possible Hunter could end up in black & gold unless a team with a worse record also has a use for him.
I don't think that the Bruins would have any competition in acquiring Hunter.

He just doesn't have much left in the gas tank. He wasn't a liability, he is just a non-factor out there though. Doesn't do anything for offense or anything for defense, he just is.

The move is designed to make room for Jarret Stoll, who is eligible to return tomorrow for the injured-reserve list, and it would seemingly be good news for rookies Dwight King and Jordan Nolan, one of whom would have been subject to return to Manchester upon Stoll’s return.

Throws 2 hits/game and can't see him being a worse option than Caron and Hennessy. Bruins need warm bodies.

If they want to waive him again later, fine by me. Just get some NHL players in Boston quickly.

Thanks Kings, made me $20. Friend of mine is a Kings fans and I bet him in the off-season that they would waive both Moreau and Hunter by the end of the season...See if he pays up...

Hunter isn't bad, he's just... there. He finishes his checks and... well... that's about it. Not a liability defensively but doesn't add offense either. Decent if you need a warm body with some experience.

Three or four years ago Hunter was a good hockey player but injuries has finished him off.

thought he would bring needed size to the bottom 6, but now its time to take a chance and groom Nolan.

Before his injuries Hunter was quite a hard hitting guy with an eye for goal and he was a sought after commodity. As said above, he just is now and I'd be shocked if anyone claims him.

I'd still do that trade. We needed to get rid of Hunter and bring in a body. Rolston's body sucks, but it's a body nonetheless.

Pretty much it exactly. If he hadn't ever jacked his knee up, he'd still be the Hunter everyone remembers. He'll probably do ok in the AHL for the next few seasons.

Its just that one useless body came with a 5 million dollar cap hit and the other for a much lower buyout...

Knee injuries did Hunter in. He was a guy who was just fast enough (but barely) to be an NHL player. But after all those injuries he has definitely lost a step to the point that he is no longer the effective player he really could be.

I think he'll give it one more go next year (knee injuries take a long time to fully recover from), but imo he is pretty much done.

It was a good trade as far as Salary cap issues go. We needed to add salary, you needed to shed it. just funny that both players are garbage.

Pretty damning for Hunter that a team like the Bruins is dressing Josh Hennessy with no 13th forward, missing 2 RW's for the foreseeable future and he's not even worth adding a contract for.

Too bad for him. I really liked him when I used to see him play for the Isles all the time. Always inconsistent goal scorer, but seemed to always bring the hitting game and was a leader from a young age on that team.

Hunter is one of those guys who still might get traded even though he cleared waivers. A team looking for a warm body in the playoffs might just want to make a minor trade to clear a roster spot rather than just add one by claiming him.

The general feeling was that we'd have to send picks/prospects to someone to get rid of Rolston.

Doing it straight up was pretty awesome.
