Wolski not on waivers. But these guys are: Ryan Russell and Clitsome (CBJ), Boulton (NJD), Staubitz (MIN), Kolanos (CGY). Staubitz re-entry.
makes u wonder if staubs is on re-entry if someone will claim him

Clitsome probably the most notable name on waivers today?

R. Russell, Staubitz, Kolanos, Boulton also.

Boyce is a really good 4th liner, would have been surprised if he didn't get claimed.

Good luck with the Jackets.

Ugh, more goons on waivers, which means another day of a few Habs fans thinking we should pick one of these horrible players up.

My mistake.

I believe it was this way a few years ago, but now players waived Sunday don't clear until Tuesday.

Is Clitsome that bad or just a bad move by the Jackets? Last year he had 19 points in 31 games as a defenseman.

Could be a decent #6.

It's looking more and more like Clitsome, at best, will end up being our 7th guy, with Moore emergence and getting Jack Johnson.

Oilers have first dibs on Clitsome correct? We haven't made a waiver claim since Ryan Jones IIRC so we should get first dibs.

It doesn't matter how many claims a team makes, the standings determine waiver priority

It's happened in past years. Waivers is still going on past the deadline, but claimed players can't play in the play-offs. Although, not 100% on that.

Clitsome has been, in a word.... BRUTAL this year. He also has another year on his contract at $1MM. I hope he gets claimed but I doubt it. Maybe the suck of Columbus rubbed off on him too and a change would do him good. He just hasn't been good this year.

We go through this every season. Respected people on this board have done the research and found that claimed players after the deadline can't play on the claiming team in the regular season, either.

So if a guy is a pending UFA, there is no reason to claim him after the deadline besides that GM being a huge jerk.
